Brown 25cl bottle obtained in Calais on the way home from a Belgian and French beer buying expedition. Best before 18 March 2011, drank and reviewed on 2 Nov 2010. Poured carefully into my ’La Chouffe’ stemmed tulip. I somehow allowed a little amount of sediment into the glass, clouded the body though. The body was a dark amber and misty in appearance, very thin covering of bubbles and collar round the glass. The smell was of apples and oranges at first, spiced with mace and a honey like semi-sweet hint, strangely also giving it a sour feel too. The taste was also fruity with sour and semi-sweet notes, again honey came to mind. An interesting beer and one I’d gladly have again, the 7%ABV is noticeable but doesn’t intrude into the flavours greatly. Easy to drink and certainly worth trying if you ever get the chance.

Bought this at the La Cave à Bulles in Paris. Pours a hazy amber/gold color. Aromas of sweet malt. Flavor of sweet malt(honey), alcohol tastes weaker than 7%. Dry finish and aftertaste.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Light sweet toffee like aroma with some light spicy notes. The flavor has sweet toffee malts, light earthy and spicy notes, and the smallest hint of funk. Solid.

Bottle brought from France by my beautiful wife (I am one lucky dude)! Dusty aroma, spicy flavors, a bit of yeast, sharp notes end game. Not bad!

Bottle. Hazy amber with a big, off-white head. Aroma of yeasty fruit, grains and root ginger. Sweet flavour, of caramel, apricots and earthy malts, with some underlying spices and dryish finish. Good.

Deep blond cloudy beer with minimal head. Aromas of hop and spices. A very interesting taste due to the 7 cereals.
