Bottle. (thx to papsoe) Unclear, dark brown beer with a minimal beige head. Heavy aroma with malt and dried fruits, mostly raisins. Malty, caramel-sweet flavor with some hops in the background, as well as dried fruits. Full to medium body with a good dash of sweetness. Dried fruits in the finish. There’s not much evidence of the alcohol in this quite pleasant Helvetian beer. (070510)

Bouteille de 33 cl de chez Grain d’Orge à Crissier (CH). Vintage 2006. Dark brown with short beige foam. Flavor of licorice, roasted malt, caramel and woody notes. The mouth is very soft, but has a certain acidity, alcohol, taste of dried fruits, malt caramelized, chocolate and spices. The body is full and a little tannic. The bitterness in the finale is ideal.

Comments: Very originally spicy Belgian. I wonder if they got those flavours through malt alone.. oregano? Anise? Sweet and herbal blend and the alcohol ends up being unnoticeable.
