Ungstrup (23922) - Oamaru, - MAR 28, 2005
An unclear amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet yeasty with notes of oranges as well as hints of alcohol. The flavor is slightly sour with notes of oranges and alcohol. Maybe a bit over the top - 6 months over best before date. Thanks Alex (fiulijn) for bringing this to Denmark.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is mild fruity, toasted breadish malty and light alcohol. Dense dark malty, roasted, caramelish yet dry. Light alcohol presence. Dry and roasted malty finish.

Nose of yeast and some spices. Hazy amber body, small white head. Flavor of yeast and some alcohol, quite unpleasant.

fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - FEB 2, 2005
Muddy amber to brown color. Nice aroma: malt, liquorice, fruits, esters (the yeast…). Quite good malty taste, but too yeasty, too evident homebrew touch.

Bottled. Ruby colour, very small head. Dusty, fruity aroma. Malty, sweet and yeasty. Potent and fruity with honeyish finish. Oddly tasty, but certainly completely unstylish. I like getting confused...

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2011 re-rated 8/2011; bottle from the webshop of the brewery; 8% - pours a hazy dark reddish-amber beer with a moderate beige foam left; aroma of raspberries marmalade, slightly chewy; highly carbonated, medium to full malt backbone; fairly sweet and with no bitterness; moderately dry with long chewy malty notes of red fruits marmalade - not terrible

6/2002; 9% - dirty brown colour, almost no head, plum aroma, sweet and quite light-bodied, the alcohol is not noticeable, slightly fruity finish with notes of licorice - a one-dimensional, out-of-any-style brew - what did they try to make here ? (2/5/5/2/8)
