Bouteille: Hazy, golden, stable white head with a little lace, sweetish fruity and toasty nose, citrussy-hoppy aromas in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and pretty soft; slightly lingering soft grainy-bitter finish sith some "noble" hoppy aromas. Nice, but not great…

A: Bright straw with a medium white head. N: Sweet and fruity. T: Full-bodied blonde beer with a faint sweetness. P: Full mouthfeel. O: Pretty standard fare for a blonde ale, although the sweetness needs a bit more complexity to make it work.

Bottle. Lemon gold, fluffy and persistent white head and gentle condition. Pleasantly spicy and yeasty on the nose with some Duvel-like notes, quite malty sweet with a hint of honeyed Bohemian hops. Soft yet full bodied in the mouth with an initial yeasty sweetness and a slightly spicy edge but allowing the odd shaft of grainy malt and pleasant hop bitterness to shine briefly through.Finish is restrained and spicy with a background of chalky hop bitterness and a little fruity maltiness.

330ml bottle at home in Richmond as ’Bellerose Bière Blonde Extra’, 6.5%, BB Sep 2019, brewed at Brasserie des Sources. Very slow gush. Clear amber, sparkling, dense foamy off-white head. Aroma is peppery biscuits, spicy honey, candi sugar. Body is frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is breathy musty hops with honey and candi sugar, crackers and spice, semisweet malt, touches of citrus and champagne. Fantastic balance. I’m quite impressed, considering I would not usually turn to this style. For the price (I paid £1.20), this is not one to miss. Recommended. [Note to admins - how is this not a biere de garde?]

Sehr. Feines Bier. Erinnert mich an das Maredsous. Blonde. Golden in der Farbe mit schönem Schaum. Alkohol schmeckt man, sehr frisch und leicht bitter.

500ml can BB 7/1/17 Phenolic fruity aroma with clove note. Poured light golden amber with OK head and good lacing. Mild bitterness followed by phenolic taste and smooth alcoholic finish. Wheat beer like without the haze.
