fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUL 4, 2008
As Jardin Secret Blonde
Hazy blond color. It doesn’t show any of the promised Saaz hop. Overall, a very common beer, with a quite dry and bitter flavor.

Bottle @ Yespr tasting.
[thank you, sysadm]
Pours a muddy pale yellow with a small creamy white head - good lacing. Aroma is great, fruity sweetness with some light funky yeast notes. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely balanced with good dryness from hops and yeast, sweetish bread-like maltiness and light tartness. Okay beer.

Deeper golden beer under a small, white head. Rich nose with warm grain and honey, relieved by a fresh hoparoma, that intensifies, and does nowhere underly its British counterparts. Very smokey - ashy flavour, latched upon mild hopflavours. Remarkably little sweetness. The smokiness is remarkable too, dry-ashy, not at all the saltiness from Rauchbier. Ends hoppy-bitterish. Titillating MF, despite meagre visible carbonation. Quite dry refreshing for a summer ale in Southern France. Very interesting beer, the second hoppy French ale in a short time; txs, March.
