On tap at Brouhaha the regular version, dark brown color, with a tan head, sweet toasted, caramel, biscuity, roasted malt, nutty, cookie dough, toffee nose with a mild floral lime, lemon peel citrusy, leafy, grassy, cedary hop note, and a faint cereal bran muffin accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice toasted, dark, roasted, caramel, biscuity malt, flowery leafy, piney, cedary hoppy character with a dark bitter chocolate, minty leafiness, toffee, nutty flavors, with a lemon, lime rind, faint candied lemon marmalade backbone, leading towards a roasty maltiness, nutty, leafy, piney, cedary hop bitterness finish.

In short: A sweet nutty cookie in a pint. Decent.
How: Tap directly at the brewery restaurant
The look: Mahogany body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is very nutty and a bit sweet, it smells like a brownies. Taste has a lot of cookies, lots of toasted nuts, toasted brown sugar, a toasted pastry (croissant), crunchy brownies. No hops to speak of. A pleasant sweet nutty malt backbone that could make for a very good beer if there was more hops to oppose the malts. Still, this is so far the ‘best’ beer I’ve had from this brewery, and I used the term ‘best’ very loosely. This beer wasn’t bad but the problem with Brasseur De Montréal is that 99% of their beers give the rest a bad name.

On tap, described as barrel-aged brown ale. Dark brown pour with an off white foam. Aroma is quite laden with different things. I mainly pick up cherry, cinnamon, cocoa, anise and some oak. The barrel-aging appears really well done on this beer, mild bourbony notes in the aroma and flavor but not overpowering. Flavor is mellow and sweet. Fine winter warmer.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing and creamy brown head. In aroma, a doughy chocolate malt overlayed with herbal floral hops, quite nice. In mouth, a nice smooth coffee malt with nice floral resinous hops, citrusy and grassy notes, woody, very nice. On tap at Brouhaha, Dec. 16 2011.

Randalized with Cascade and Centennial: same appearance, more pronounced resinous floral hops in aroma, green and doughy, some light iron notes. In mouth, a very green and doughy herbal hops attack, a bit nasty and strange, more fruity, not to my liking. Only rating original. On tap at Brouhaha, Dec. 16 2011.
