On tap. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of perfume, floral notes, toffee, toasted malt, peppery spices. Flavor of sweet, toasted malt, jam, light fruits, and faint peppery spices in the finish. Light, interesting, spiced, pretty good. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy off-white head that has decent retention and nice full foamy lacing. Fruity malts aromas with a little spices. Taste is pretty close to the nose, with some fruity notes, caramel malt and spices rounding everything. Quite refreshing for such a malty beer with more body than most in this style.

NOt bad but expected more. NICe amber features and nice foam but some bitter fetaures but not enough to be tiring.

341ml bottle. Hazy, yellow brown amber. Small off white head. Fruity twang, yeasty, malty aroma. Tiny bit of spice. Spice is stronger in the taste, apple twang, musty dust, a bit of earthy bitterness. Not quite as dry as I was expecting.

Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of cereal, light to moderate cooked orange for the hops and barnyard for the yeast, with a hint of honey and faint spice in the background. Head is small, fizzy, slightly off-white with some spotty lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear medium amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet, heavily acidic and sour, then the short finish is just acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation. It has nice balanced aromas, and somewhat harsh and out of balance flavors, but it’s still a good drinking Belgian Ale.

BDM’s best beer. Don’t approach it as a pure belgian - rather an American Amber/Belgian hybrid. Orange/Red pour with 2 fingers of frothy white head. big gobs of lacing. Spice in the aroma, earth, yeast, caramel, mixed nuts. Taste is a combination of spice, yeast, a bit of vanilla, dark fruits, a bit of nuttiness, earth and wood - very complex. Medium bodied and creamy. To this day I’m not sure what BDM was going for but this beer is delicious, especially on tap.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted caramelish and light fruity. Phenolic, caramelish and light toasted malty. Subdued fruity and bitter to herbal. Bitter and herbal dry finish.
