3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Boutip (3458) - Gatineau, - MAY 10, 2009
Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a medium size white head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of orange peel with some wheat malt. Taste is dominated by orange peel with some light coriander and some consistent wheat malt. Body is quite full with limited filtration and bottle conditioning with some good carbonation. Well done but I prefer my wit with more coriander and less residual sugar.

Bottle 341ml.
Pours clear golden, pilsner-like. Ok white soapy head, quickly vanishing to nothing. Aroma is of malt, acidity, citrus. Taste is citrus, pretty acid.Malt, somewhat sweet. Also present a weird aftertaste, molson dry-like. Good carbonation, refreshing, but very thin, almost watery. Weird witbier to say the least. Nothing to see here.

341ml bottle. Somewhat cloudy yellow with a copper hue, quickly fading white head. Predominantly wheat, some coriander, orange, belgian yeast; above average carbonation (prickly), mild body, sweet but becomes mildly bitter, dry, some spice and more wheat on the finish.

Everytime I go at their brewpub, I always have a pint of the Van Der Bull. It’s a decent wit that is enjoyable. A true session beer, especially on the patio.

Purchased in a small convenient store in Hull, Quebec. Pours a cloudy golden-beige colour with a frothy white head that has decent retention and small lacing. Beautiful coriander aromas with witbier yeast. Refreshing mouthfeel that is a bit thin for my likings. The taste is bit mild as well. Curaçao (orange) peel is present with the light spices. A tad more bitter than most witbiers. A decent version of this type.

Quite a grainy aroma, good cereals, and malts. Lihht floral hops, with some nice tropical fruit, especially pineapple. Light bitterness, and light sweetness, with a medium bitter finish. Quite nice, and refreshing, my favorite at this brewery.

Hazy orange coloured body with a thin white head, some noticeable sediment towards the bottom and a bunch of bubbles. Aroma of yeast, wheat, coriander seed, curacao, honey and a decent amount of alcohol. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong yeast and bread flavours show first with a bit of lively coriander seed, curacao and nutmeg coming in. Aftertaste is a bit fruity, slightly sweet, but mostly yeastie and malty. Overall, not such a bad beer, but not amazing. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Depanneur Peluso (Bonisoir) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 09-April-2009 for CA$2.29 sampled at home in Washington on 14-December-2010.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2010 Bouteille 341 ml. 5%. Couleur jaune or, mousse blanche. Légèrement voilée. Arômes d’agrumes. En bouche notes d’agrumes et de céréales. Finale sans amertume, maltée. Bonne. En fait je ne suis pas un grand amateur de blanche mais celle-ci descend très bien.
