Bottle courtesy of Fritz from the Washington Post, at Pizzeria Paradiso. Slightly cloudy golden color, medium white head that settles slowly to leave decent lacing. Aroma of fresh hops flowers and grass. Flavor is progressively bitter, but not over the top. Very crisp and clean.

My Bottom Line:
Citrusy and wooden hops garnish this effervescent India Pale Ale’s humble malt apport, concluding each sip with a smidgen of bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the luminous orange amber.
-The perfumy tropical fruit notes imparted by the hops get soap-like at times.
-This is not nearly aromatic enough for the style.
-The malts don’t offer much in the way of flavor; the body is slender though, giving plenty of drinkability.
-The flavor profile remains almost balanced throughout.

500 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Nice citrus hop aroma with lots of floral and fruity notes including pineapple and mango. Taste is caramel and toffee with bitter hops including resin, floral, citrus, mango and pineapple notes. Medium bodied. Well balanced, overall and excellent IPA.

Pours a slightly-hazed copper color with a decent head. The smell is ripe hops with pine coming out on top. Good malt backing with a bit of caramel and bread crust thrown in. Same with the taste, and there is a fairly-pronounced hop bitterness, fully complemented by the medium body. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-20-2009

(Rating #2788)

Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow color ale with large foamy head with good retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with a medium dose of citrus. Taste is more floral then I had anticipated with more pronounced hops as well. Citrus undertones was also a pleasant surprise. Body was quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well done overall though lacking some malt backbone.

Cloudy golden coloured body with an orange tint with a nice sized tan head that sits atop the beer for a while. Aroma of a light fresh hop scent, curacao, citrus, wheat and even a touch of coriander seed - odd! Medium-bodied; Nice fresh yeast and malty flavour with coriander seed, nutmeg and basically wit type tastes and only a touch of hops. Aftertaste has a lot of spice, yeast and a slightly bitter floral hoppiness. Overall, more of an ESB or an English IPA than a traditional IPA - but definitely good to sample it if you can find it - not bad in the slightest bit. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 17-February-2010.

Bouteille 500ml.
