UPDATED: MAY 11, 2012 500 ml bottle from Thorpe429- thanks again, Mike! Pours a deep, not quite opaque brown with some red highlights around the sides and a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, brown sugar, dark and dried fruits, wood, peat, and tobacco. Flavor of caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, peat, dried fruits, and a lingering tobacco note. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, malty mouthfeel that gives way to that lingering toasty tobacco note. Good stuff. Way underrated.

Bready, fruity, malty, and quite a bit of caramel. Watery, low carb, and quite a bit of bitter cocoa. Medium bitterness, dry finish.

Bottle 500 ml
Aroma: sour plum , cherry, caramel and alcohol.
Appearance: pours as mild gusher with frisky plus sized tanned head. Brownish hazed bottom. 3+
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: medium bodied with thinner walls. Quiet sweet , unfermented sugars, plum, fructose , gentle tartness on top. Thin finish with accented Scotch character, slight dryness of alcohol. Lacking definition and depth.

500 mL bottle. Dark, clear, cola brown with a medium beige head. Looks good! Aroma, not so much. It’s got that vegetal thing going on that you find in several of the lesser Quebec micros. From the flavour, it would be hard to tell that this is supposed to be a Scotch Ale. Nothing off, really. It’s just sweet caramel and a touch of booze.

Pours a deep bronze with a hew reddish highlights. The nose and taste consist of plenty of dark fruits and some sweet malt. The taste is a little bit too sweet at times, but otherwise this is very nice. Very smooth. Pretty full body; bready, almost chewy. Good drinkability. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-16-2010

Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a small off-white foamy head with light retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of sugary caramel with solid cereal backbone. Taste is also a mix of sugary caramel malt with loads of cereal in the malt bill. Some light alcohol was perceptible though not too the point of being gross. Balanced could be improve with too much sugar upfront. Body was quiet full with average carbonation.
