A hazed blonde wit with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a sweet lemony malt with herbal notes and light sulfur. In mouth, sweet fruity malt malt with spices and light off notes. On tap at Noire et Blanche, Nov. 25 2012.

341 ml bottle. Pours a very foggy, whitish yellow with a short lasting white head. Smell is yeast, spices. Taste is wheat, yeast, bananas, cloves, sweetbread. Some coriander, too, peppery. Finish is dry, somewhat citrusy at the end. Body is average to thick, mouthfeel is soft, light. Very good wit-weizen hybrid!

Aquafinapure (20) - Acton Vale, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012

(Originally written for the Fall 2011 issue of TAPS Magazine.) Given that they’re close stylistic cousins, a hybrid of a German-style Hefeweizen and a Belgian-style Witbier, as this beer is claimed to be, makes a lot of sense. But despite the “German Inspired” slogan on the label, BdM Blanche doesn’t offer any Hefe-like hallmarks – no banana, no clove, no bubblegum – and instead strikes the palate as a fairly average Wit. Medicinal lemon predominates, with soapy coriander and mild ginger supporting, and a finish that is both grainy and slightly astringent.

Hazy yellow colour with a big white head. Citric, spicy and sweet wheat aroma. Maybee a bit too much lemon in the flavour. And a bit to sweet. Otherwish fresh and ncie.
[On tap at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri in Oslo, Norway]

So, only in their description do they say this is a hefeweizen, but written in big "Blanche" which is usually a witbier (but no mention of coriander, nor orange peel). Pours a cloudy blonde with a frothy white head that goes down averagely and leaves foam. Lemony wheat aromas, but mild. Slight sourness at the beginning of the taste, but falls flat. Maybe a bit of yeast. Not much here. Kind of different because of the confusion with the name, but a bland weird hefeweizen.

Bouteille 341 ml. 4.5%. Couleur jaune pâle, mousse blanche. Arôme de blé et agrumes. En bouche, levure mais pas trop, zeste et céréale. Correct.

Bottle. Scary pile of sediment in a loudly yellow. Thin lasting whie head. Weird Absorbine Jr and bana scent. Thin watery and Absorbine Jr taste.

krinkle (16) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 15, 2011
Lots of citrus to the nose, as well as spices (pepper, clove). Medium carbonation, medium body. Wheat adds a bit of robustness to this thin beer, but the aroma makes you forget that with spices and lime. Good, but it doesn’t feel complete and balanced as a real wit.

Pas un fan de blanche , mais cette blanche d’inspiration allemande fait le travail dans une longue journée d’été !
