Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy pale yellow color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of coriander and light orange peel is satisfying with an OK wheat malt base. Taste is also a nice mix between some wheat malt with notes of spices including coriander. Body is a bit fuller then average with good carbonation. Nothing earth shattering but nicely drinkable.

341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served almost cold in a tulip glass. 19JL11.

App.: Very cloudy bright yellow with a decent bright white foam. Aroma: Lots of very herbal, citrusy, floral coriander, bitter and peppery smelling, almost medicinal, soapy, odd. Palate: Medium body, sparse carbonation, astringent. Flav.: Same soapy, medicinal, herbal lemony coriander, a little yeast and malt character, still odd, a bit tangy; dry with a little pucker and no perceivable bitterness, not an unpleasant lemon and very light biscuit finish.

No thanks.

This is supposed to be a bit of a hybrid between a German Hefeweizen and a Belgian Whitbier. I don’t taste much of the Hefeweizen style in this, much closer to a Whitbier. Even as a whitbier kind of bland, a bit of coriander and spice but really has a commercial taste. Reminds me of Rickards White which is surprisingly good for a macro beer but still below the standard of what one demands from a respectable microbrewery. Drinkable but not very interesting.

Bottle - 341ml. Cloudy pale blond body with an average white creamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy and grainy hints. Its fresh, well balanced taste carries citrusy and coriander notes. Ends with a good bittersweet finish. Good stuff.

341 ml bottle purchased at Peluso (Montreal), on June 21, 2011. Yellow white, small head. Aroma of malted wheat spicy, very pronounced notes of clove and ginger. Taste of malted wheat and minerals, some notes of citrus, aftertaste dry and mineral. It taste like commercial white beer!

Veiled pale gold topped by a lasting white hat. Citrusy (lime) and tea-like, herbal, spicy nose with chamomile, cardamome and ginger notions. Abundant carbonation lends a mineral, slightly acidic side that blends nicely with the citric aspects to make for a quenching ensemble despite the fair amount of residual sugars that bring it more into lemonade territories. Light on the palate with watery edges. A nice hybrid tweak that I’d prefer with slightly increased yeast character and a bit more subtlety on the spices, but already a fine refreshing summer ale.

From 341ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw hue with very ephemeral head presence. Interesting aromatic profile for a hefeweizen, almost a clean mineral note with grainy undertones and saison ’barnyard’ character to it. A bit of spice and citrus up front in the flavor melds with a light astringency and sourness, which carries through to compliment an abrupt and grainy finish. Lively carbonation adds to a pleasant mouth-feel; I found the brew to feel ’wet’ on the palate in a sense that it makes you feel hydrated after each sip, very refreshing, and an almost slick character to it as though oats were present in the grain bill. A great thirst-quencher for the hot summer months.

pours a hazy golden with a decent white head, retention and lacing is ok. wheat and masala spices without cinnamon. tart tropical fruits in the nose. taste is cereals, mainly wheat, soft wheat, still with a dry finish. light but very pleasant citrusy hopping. bubbly without being aggressive. quenching and good take on the weizen. would have again, maybe on tap?
