Poured a clear golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of sweet candy-like ester with some Belgian-style malt notes coming through. Taste is also dominated by sweet candy-like ester with light warming alcohol notes and some Belgian-style malt notes with quite a bit of residual sugars being noticeable. Body is about average with an oily texture and good carbonation with some warming alcohol being apparent but not overly so. Interesting take on the Belgian Champagne fermented style but a tad too sweet for my tasted buds.

Moyenne effervescence. Présence de levure en arrière goût.

750 mL bottle from Broue Ha Ha served cool in a tulip glass shared with friends. Hazy deep golden with a so-so white head. Straw, hay, wheat, honey, light citrus, a little tangy. Medium body, relaxed effervescence. Tangy fruitiness, tropical fruit esters, something odd...tangy tropical fruits?, honey, alright; off-dry with fairly lively effervescence and a lightly spicy, yeasty finish.

(Rating #5340)

The slightest haze inhabits this pure golden ale which deploys initially fierce carbonation that slowly calms down and stops feeding a head that starts big, but fades to nothingness after ten minutes or so. Very fruity, picy, flowery nose. Strongly perfumed and reminiscent in that regard of some French ciders with their forefront apple notes backed by ample residual sugars and sweet bread connotations. Our current prey is more complex, apparently boosted by non-Reinheitsgebot friendly ingredients. Coriander and orange peel spices things up, adding citrusy notes that have me praying for some sort of acidic trail for them to tie unto. Unfortunately, sugar is by far the dominating basic flavour, hops providing negligible bitterness and the PH remaining fairly high. Not a whole lot of yeast character save for the generic breadiness and perhaps a touch of ripe banana. The heavy carbonation is very helpful in lightening up the otherwise rather slick mouthfeel. Fruity, sweet finish lasts for a while, yet is not particularly memorable. Some interesting ideas in here. I like its texture despite all of its sugars, its colour is appealing, for all of its adjuncts, it remains pretty palatable and displays no component which overwhelms the others - yet in the end, it does not make a very drinkable aperitif and lacks acidity for those sometimes candied flavours to blend well together.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear pale golden with a thin, yet resilient white head. Flavor is fruity, floral, oranges, and some light malt. Finish is floral and herbal. Some lingering lemon. Medium body, soft, bubbly mouthfeel, average carbonation.

Bottle - 750ml. Hazy blond body with lively carbonation and a thin white foamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with herbal, malty, and some yeasty hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its refreshing, well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries herbal, flowery, and honeyish notes. Carbonation is slightly agressive. Ends with a decent bitter/herbal finish. Enjoyable.
