[My bottle (12oz) shared with GregClow, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a very dark amber-brown with a spare diminishing frothy beige head. Nice aroma of toasted caramel malt, vanilla, chocolate, leafy hops, light alcohol, dark fruit and more. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, hazelnuts, raisins and lots of hops in the finish. Big bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied. Great stuff.

[7433-20150730] 341mL bottle. Sweet Tootsie Roll and soya sauce and roasted dark malts aroma. Black body with a quick foamy tan head. Dark chocolate and sweet roasted caramel flavour with a dark fruit finish. Full body. Wonderful and delicious. (9/4/10/5/18) 4.6

2015-07-30. Black body with a small quick head. 3+ Aroma is big and boozy up front, dark malt, very light roast. Sort of fruity whispers. Flavour is rich, sweet then bitter then syrupy sweet, with hints at maple syrup. Lingering bitterness mixed with notes of cocoa, chocolate, hazelnut. Rich full bodied palate, soft carbonation. 4+ Pretty intensely flavourful, I like it but it’s a big one and a bit much. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

341ml into a chalice. Pours jet black, middling tan head which lasts and leaves some lacing. Nose of molasses, coffee, vanilla; very sweet flavour, with lots of dark fruits, licorice, something akin to tar. The booze is very up front, though I shouldn’t be surprised with the 11.5%. Light bitter finish. Full-bodied and sticky on the palate. A slow slipper to be sure.

Black pour with a medium mocha head. Aroma is sweet, notes of licorice, and burnt soy with some light roast. Mouth feel is oily, and soft with very low carb. Finish is incredibly boozy, with loads of sweet boozy licorice and some light charred malts.

Pours like motor oil topped by half a finger of fizzy/creamy tanned head showing fair retention and leaving nice lacing. The nose is sweet with coffee beans, figs, dattes, molasses. The taste stays in the same lane with the sweetness at first and a warm coffee finish paired up with a good bitterness, The brew is full-bodied and holds a slght sharpness from the carbs. The sweetness is pretty intense so you’ll want to sip this one slow. Great for your cellar. Cheers!

App : Jet black, motor oil like, 2 fingers head with a very agressive pour. Nose : Roasted malt, toffee, dark chocolate, pumpernickel bread, bread crust, campfire, coffee, candied cherry, dattes and dry sultana raisins. Some ester from the yeast and phenolic notes. Taste : Dark fruits (plums, dattes, cherry) , lots of caramel, bready, roasted coffee, black licorice and lots of residual sweetness. Some notes reminds you of a porto. Low but noticeable hop bitterness. Earthy, herbal and floral notes from the hops. Very good drinkability considering its 11.5%. Alcool is well hidden. Its more on the sweet side with the deep roasted malt and coffee notes acting like supporting actors for the dark fruits notes and bready malts. You get some caracter similar to a belgian dubbel with the roasty side of the stout. Perfect after a meal. While it might not be my favorite stout ever i really did enjoy the beer alot. It was a nice experience. Will i buy again? Yes. Definatly worth a try. I recommand it (unless you really cant stand any sweetness in your beer).
