Brune au miel
In ancient Egypt, the belief was that bees were born out of the teras of the sun god Râ. Honey was often used there to flavor and add a divine or curative nature to many beverages and foods. More than 5000 years ago, Egyptians were already making a grain based beer to which honey was frequently added. It is in the honor of ancient Egypt and the tears of their sun god that we brew Necrareüs. With its wildflower honey notes and lightly roasted cereal flavors, our honey brown ale is delightful and has a mellow bitterness and a malty, slighty sweet finish.

One of the better honey beers that I’ve ever had. Aroma is slightly sweet honey mixed with grain. Taste is more on the sweet side with earthy honey and the slight caramel of the malt mixing well. Overall a bit on the sweeter side but very enjoyable.

2015-03-27 Avec Robert Bière brune au miel. Assez douce. Manque un peu de punch. Assez bonne.

Fiche technique Style: Brown Ale Format: 500 ml Taux d?alcool : 6,5% Température: 8°C

Pour is a pretty, light-catching brown with a two finger cap that’s gone in a hurry. Nose is, predictably lots of honey and caramel, brown/burnt sugar, plums/dark fruit, toasted grains, molasses. Taste-wise it’s sweet and slightly syrupy without being cloying. And the finish is just dry enough to make this surprisingly drinkable. Nice.

Pours a medium brown with a small beige head that disappears quite readily and leaves some lacing. Nose is of honey and quite strangely some alcohol. Some light toffee impressions, too. Taste is quite sweet but not cloying, offers caramel, honey and toasted cereals. Again, a little boozy for a 6.5% brew. Moderately bitter. Body is medium, carbonation moderately low and mouthfeel a little sticky. Overall an OK beer, I won’t be back.

Way too sweet and thick. Definitely for a sweet palate. Also needs to be served at the right temperature. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
