This is another small beer made with second runnings. It was a crazy gusher that settled into an opaque honey brown with a giant fizzy beige head. I then noticed it was bottled on March 20th 2012 which for such a low ABV beer was odd. Bottle bought at the brewery. Nice fruity bready aroma with a touch of spiyc somewhat pastry/fruitcake like. Very round carbonation and soft mouthfeel but the body is thin & a bit watery. The flavor is pretty good, bread pudding, raisins, cherries, lightly spicy, cocoa powder with an ultra-dry finish. Judging by the gusher I suspect the yeast kept plugging away and possibly boosted the ABV over 3.14% pretty good but I am sure it would be nicer fresher.

A dark colored version from a bottle @ Festibière de Québec. I see no separate entry neither on RB or the brewery’s website so here it goes. Pours a medium brown with no head. Aroma is really fresh with a lot of spearmint. Taste is dry with again these minty notes that give a really fresh feeling to it. There is some, but almost no roasted malt to be felt. Body is light and it is refreshing. Not complex at all but a good thirst quencher. I think I preferred the original version, though.

Bouteille 500 ml. 3.14%. Couleur jaune ambrée, mousse blanche épaisse. Arôme de levures légère, agrumes. En bouche, malt, agrumes, levures sauvages. Finale sèche, un peu de fuits, malt. Excellente bière de soif de 3%...two penny.

Bouteille 500ml.

pours clear pale yellow with a decent white head, little retention and lacing. light piney, citrusy nose. faint pale malts, some freshness and crispness though. spicy character. aggressive carbonation, light body - watery mouthfeel, decent but kind of abrupt citrusy-herbal finish. meh - drain pour.

A nice golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a nice herbaceous malt with grassy hop notes, a bit of Brett. In mouth, a smooth herbal malt , Orval like, with grassy hops, a bit funky, very nice. On tap at Mondiale 2012, June 8 2012.
