341 ml bottle from Depanneur Peluso, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear copper with a moderate light tan head. Aroma: Some nice sweet, lightly fruity malts with a bit of dusty earthiness, lighter peppery, slightly citrusy hops, light and pleasant. Palate: Medium body and medium-light carbonation. Flav.: Fairly stark, British malts, a bit earthy, a touch of wood, basically no fruit or “sweet” malt flavours, pine and pepper hops, a touch of citrus; dry with nice bitterness and a slightly minerally, clean finish.

Great bitterness but could use a bit more malt and hop character.

(printemps 2007)

Cute label. Beer poured cloudy amber with a finger of head that left nice gobs of lacing. Aroma of fresh piney hops. Taste is hoppy as per the label, but too one dimensional. Average mouthfeel, medium carbonation, but fairly dry in the aftertaste. Good for those looking for a quick hop fix and at least creates the illusion that Dunham has the potential to make a good beer.

341 ml bottle from La Barik. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with good-sized, rocky, slightly off-white head. Aroma is pale/caramel malt and fairly floral hops. Flavour has lots of floral hoppiness with more restrained malt. Drying finish. Solid IPA.

Almost clear amber colour with small white head. Fresh fruity hoppy aroma with woody malty and sweet caramel notes. Dry bitter hops, pine, dry woody nutty malt in flavour. Bitterness stays. Dry maltiness in aftertaste. Very nice drinkable IPA.

Over bitter taste at the end. Overall good beer for a Canadian IPA which are quite rare.

Bottle - 341ml. Limpid copper body with a thin off-white frothy head. Good hoppy aroma with malty and grainy hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries some oaky notes and ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Good IPA.

Bottled sample via lubiere. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Great aromas of both white and pink grapefruit, a bit of pine, and black pepper. Hops are at the forefront in the mouth as well, with the citrus notes mixing with vague spice and a perfume-like floral quality. There’s a bit of malt (both pale and crystal) in there providing some balance. Firm bitterness and clean finishing. Similar to SNPA (which my wife was drinking while I was drinking this), although the extra perfume and spice character really went the extra mile. Classy.
