Thanks to our friend Marc for this unique take on a pumpkin brew. subtle spiciness with a great presence of effervescent Belgian yeast. Crisp and refreshing with a nice bready finish. Golden-amber bodied with a soft white head. Well paired with sweet, rich foods or as served by itself.

Bottle 2009. Nice orangey pour with a ring of foam clinging to the edge of the glass. Big earth and pumpkin aromas coming off this one, some peppery hops and spices too. Peppery taste, good caramel malts very english pale ale with a nice little pumpkin/spice kick. Not much to say about the palate except for: session.

Pours an appealing orange hue with a thin ring of head clinging to the glass. Earthy pumpkin notes in the aroma with a faint presence of spices and green hoppiness. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation and an almost sticky texture on the palate. Lots of pumpkin present with traces of spice and hops in the background. Probably would have preferred more spice in the mix, though it seems they went heavier on the pumpkin as compared to the St. Ambroise. Alcohol is very well disguised as it is hardly discernible. I liked this beer; pumpkin is a challenging ingredient to successfully merge into a brew.

Bottle in Montreal, after which I think I looked as scared as the pumpkin on the label. Good lasting white head on amber. Light lager scent. Terrible and undrinkable.

Split the bottle with my dad. Warming sensation from the alcohol. Lack of spice, too much pumpkin.
