Bottle - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Clear mahogany colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, with notes of toffee and a hint of chocolate. Light bodied. Flavour is quite sweet off the top, with some brown sugar and fruit, turning dry and woody in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark auburn body with a small fizzy brown head. Toffee aroma and some fruit in the aroma like pineapple and oranges. Caramel flavour, thick palate, some fruitiness. Has a strange combination of flavours and certainly lacking in nuttiness.

Aroma is fruit and brown sugar, clear, dark garnet, pours a large, rocky and noisy tan head. Flavour is candied malt, mild red plums and subtle hops. Light bodied, sweet, bitter and refreshing. Not what I’d expect from the style, but very enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a huge lasting foamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of fruit and malt with some faint nuts -- pretty sweet and not very Brown Ale-like. Flavour is also quite sweet and fruity with some caramel malt and only a hint of nuts. Medium bodied. Weird how most of the reviews talk about how malty and nutty it is and make no mention of the fruity aspect of it of which I got lots of (except Lubiere who also mentions his was a gusher and MartinT) -- I wonder if I got a bad bottle or something? Anyways, I thought this was just O.K.

Bottle. Nice chestnut brown body woth a good beige creamy/foamy head. Decent malty aroma with brown sugar and molasses notes. Malty/hoppy taste is well balanced, but it lacks strenght. Ends with a fair bittersweet finish. Good Ale.

(Rating #571)
