pours clear bright yellow with a small but decent white cap, some retention. pils, strange booziness, light citrus, wet grass, unbland herbalness, peppery, doughy malts - almost cloying though. bright carbonation, light body - oily, short but assertive herbal-grassy-citrusy finish. decent drinkability, but some flaws remain, as usual for this brewer.. not quite a DP because of its drinkability and due to this almost hot pre-summer day but.. meh..

Bouteille 341 ml. 6.4%.

Carbonation moyenne, corps moyen.

Crystal clear pale honey brew wearing a large, rather big-bubbled white head. Grainy and gently sugary, honeyed nose in which flowery/perfumey notions greet the nose as they would a brother. Delicate albeit well positioned hoppy undertones punctuate this sweetish lager whose bready malts feel borderline toasty and frankly honeyed - not unlike those of a heller bock. Its creamy, yet highly effervescent, relatively large-bubbled mouthfeel feels not crisp, but certainly refreshing and fairly acidic, combining with the hops’ zesty citrus notes that bring a welcome acidic touch and dry out effect that greatly accelerate the beer’s sipping rythm. Good stuff, everything ends up coming together even though my initial whiff did not convince me at all. Rather than being cohesive from start to finish, it shows you how wrong you were to begin with and how cohesive it was all along.

341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear very deep golden with a fair off-white head. Aroma: Some grassy, peppery hop notes, also oddly leafy, herbal, wet ash, strangely dusty and slightly perfumed, sweet bread crust for malt notes, white wine??, what a mess. Palate: Medium body, slightly relaxed effervescence, fairly smooth. Flav.: Really dusty, boiled grains/cereals, slightly fruity, lightly grassy hops, still has an oddly leafy/herbal kind of character, wet ash, messy; dry yet cloying with a little bitterness and a long, odd, peppery/sweet, messy finish.
