3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Fruity, with some medium sweetness, faint dark fruits, a lightly wheaty base, and medium bitterness. Not bad, but there’s really too much going on.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a cloudy and hazy dirty beige color ale with a rather large dirty white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wheat malt with some fruity hoppy notes is quite interesting. Taste is also dominated by fruity ester with light tropical fruit notes and some lightly sweet wheat malt notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. I quite enjoyed the mix between Nelson Sauvin but could be improved with lower ABV and more hops upfront.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very veiled golden pour with a reflectless brownish tinge. The head is initially large and white and slowly fades. The hop, cereals and yeast aromas feel fairly integrated in that one. Fruity from the get-go, it combines a very green, grassy, grapey character to unripe banana esters, gently tropical detours (passionfruit, melon? pineapple?) sourish wheat and spicy phenols in a relatively cohesive ensemble, just one step away from chaos. The hop presence clearly focuses on the aromatic rather than the bitter side and there again, it steals most of the show from the weizen character lying underneath. Feeling rather strong, with alcohol being more than a remote consideration, especially for a 6.5% ABV, a number that seems to underestimate what would have been my best guess. While the carbonation is intially lively, as it slowly fades after several minutes, a certain oiliness creeps into the mouthfeel - accentuating a sense of thickness which was not noticeable from the beginning. Texture is not its strongest point, failing to tie all the aromatic elements together through cereal tightness or bubbly crispiness, never highlighting the refreshing character we ought to find in a hoppy weizen. I’m not 100% certain I really dig the wheat and Nelson combination, but I’m perfectly willing to explore the notion furthermore on the basis of that G.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared with Grippitis and Ian. Hazy orange tinted yellow, lively white head. Sweet cotton-candy opens the palate, light spicy coriander, zesty mango and guava hoppy character. Not your typical German hefe, but very nice.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep gold with a small white wisp. Aroma is wheat and floral hops. Taste is sharp bitter floral hpps with wheat and straw in the finish. A little off balance for me and almost acidic in the aftertaste.
