750ml bottle [Thanx Tanja & Verena!]. Cloudy pale golden colour with huge, foamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy, floral and spicy aroma, notes of lemon, rose hip, pink pepper. Taste is floral, slightly peppery spicy, a touch of bath salt, pink pepper, rose hip, somehow wheaty. Slightly perfumed overall.

2013-06-01. Hazy pale pastel yellow Body small white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly lemony at first. Slightly odd grainy notes in the secondary. 6++ Flavour is interesting, light lemon, hints of spice - coriander? Citrus. Light bitterness and a tangy character that lingers in the finish. 6++ Average to thin bodied palate, modest carbonation. Okay. On tap at Mondial de la Biere 2013, Montreal

Couleur jaune paille, mousse correcte.

750ml bottle from Bierologuee.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with small foamy white head.
Aroma : Spicy and citrusy nose. Nice rich grains. Nice peppercorns aromatics.
Taste : Citrusy and spicy, Slightly peppery. Grainy. Light saison yeast notes. More yeast on finish
Palate : Soft carbonation. Moderately dry finish.
Overall : Nicely aromatic. The peppersorns are adding a really nice touch. Saison yeast could be a bit more expressive. Carbonation could a tad more generous. Nice lemony notes. Persistent grains on the finish with peppercorns and yeast. Hops are subtle. Lots of nice flavor but not cohesive enough in my opinion. Nice beer overall but not something I’d buy again.

pours hazy very light yellow with a nice white head, good retention and lacing. very fresh lemon, light tropicalness, white grapes, 7-up feeling, spices - belgiumness and pepper. average carbonation, light body - oily, decent herbal-citrusy finish. a gluten-free brew that i truly enjoyed!

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2013 Bouteille 750 ml. 7%.

Cloudy pale golden, pretty thing to look at. Vigorous white foam remains for long minutes before diminishing materially. Very perfumey and seductive nose with strong zesty lemon connotations and gently candied (the honey, I suppose), distinguished cereals, characterful and fitting perfectly in a farmhouse ale, adding a distinct rural character. In mouth, while the yeast provides the usual earthy nuances, its phenolic character is dominated by the burst of very refreshing, pleasantly tart lemon presence, never juicy thanks to the stimulating, salivating tight-bubbled effervescence. Together with the gently floral hops, the pink peppercorns do show up in the acidic, bitter and even salty finale which lingers with a cerealic yet refreshing post-taste. Another masterful product from these guys. They make a Saison (not authentic admittedly, but certainly belonging in spirit) without pils malt and it’s better than the vast majority of what’s out there. Fairly dry, characterful malt base, exotic touches, appropriate, never dominating yeast, refreshing to the bone, aptly masked alcohol. Way to go guys. I’ll question myself forever as to how awesome a beer these guys could be making if they could tap onto any cereal at all. Truly unique and fascinating.
