Please...I tried this on a whim from the good folks at Timers in Racine. Heck, $12 a case of 500’s. Whew! I was afraid until the first taste, I mean we are talking molasses, millet, buckwheat, chestnut, hops, yeast - sorry, no sassafras or moonbeam! Well, I can tell you this stuff is worth a snort, maybe a couple of snorts because it is actually quite good. Coffee colored, creamy head that fades a bit too fast, hint of chocolate, nice hoppy finish. Go on now, be brave. I was, or still am, back to the fridge, darlings.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA as "red ale". Pours clear amber with a slight, transient beige head. Aroma seems a little smoky. ? Near med body. Flavor is suggesting smoke to me. It’s moderately sweet. Not sure what to say. Smoky?

Man this shit is weird. It smells like caramel and toasted (something), but there’s also this weird red Kool-Aid element that I find disconcerting. Millet and buckwheat and corn and quinoa and what in the sweet christ am I drinking right now? These beers all have this weird essence that I can’t quite place. Definitely not a fan.

Really interesting...and a shining example as to why you can’t make great beer without delicious gluten. Weird grain forward aromas and flavours..I don’t even know what I’m smelling and tasting...hemp? Flax? Sorghum? Lol. Lots of flavour..just not my thing.

From a big can that says RED on it, not rousse frenchy. Candy light aroma with volatile hints. Looks like darker iced tea with a medium rocky alabaster head. A little ruff there on the uptake, hints of tartness lurking but not in yer face. Some coarseness and leather in there fer sure. Bandaid anybody?

Can at CiderWISE, pours a dark red with a small off-white head. Nose is like that of a conventional amber, with toasted malt and bready caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, bready caramel and a decent hop punch to balance. Surprisingly good, with a good balance of hops and grains. Quite nice.

Can - Malty caramel with a touch of twig. Clear brown copper with a decent light brown head. Toffee and twig with a nice toast dry finish. Not bad.

35 cl bottle. Red to burgundy color, short offwhite head. Aroma of burnt wood and chestnut, hints of caramel. Taste slightly bitter. Light body, low carbonation. Some apple & plum in the finish, short dry finish. Weird.
