COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

From a big can that says RED on it, not rousse frenchy. Candy light aroma with volatile hints. Looks like darker iced tea with a medium rocky alabaster head. A little ruff there on the uptake, hints of tartness lurking but not in yer face. Some coarseness and leather in there fer sure. Bandaid anybody?

Can at CiderWISE, pours a dark red with a small off-white head. Nose is like that of a conventional amber, with toasted malt and bready caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, bready caramel and a decent hop punch to balance. Surprisingly good, with a good balance of hops and grains. Quite nice.

Can - Malty caramel with a touch of twig. Clear brown copper with a decent light brown head. Toffee and twig with a nice toast dry finish. Not bad.

35 cl bottle. Red to burgundy color, short offwhite head. Aroma of burnt wood and chestnut, hints of caramel. Taste slightly bitter. Light body, low carbonation. Some apple & plum in the finish, short dry finish. Weird.

Can: Poured a clear brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and small lacing. Aroma of light grainy malt base with dry caramel notes. Taste is also a mix of dry caramel malt with some grainy notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Standard red ale with limited hops and more grainy malt base than usual due to use of alternate grains.

4-pack of cans from my local Métro store. Pours a clean dark amber colour with a big frothy-creamy beige head, great retention and thick lacing. Some nice aromas of roasted malts (or whatever grain is burnt) with the sweetness of caramel. At times, some grassiness from the hops. The is a little different, like most gluten-free brews but had their typical apple flavours in the finish with a little dryness. Hints of nuts are fighting to show. Goes down nicely like most of their beers. Pretty decent for the style, for a g-free one.

Correct...

16 oz can. Pours dark red-brown with a decent head. Smells and tastes rather weird, with an odd grain base and some unexpected fruitiness Nicely complex and interesting. An unfortunate sour note in the finish. Feel: a bit too bubbly and carbonated.

473ml can. Was at a bar, didn’t check. What is great about this is it is a standard amber ale without gluten, dare i say a tasty amber ale. If you want something to slug at a party or something go for it.
