341 ml bottle. Pours a brownish red with a small, short lived, tan head. Roasted malt aroma with caramel and nuts. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel and nuts with a slightly dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Pretty tasty for a gluten free beer.

Can sample at Atlantic Beer Festival Moncton. Clear deep amber color, white edge head. Aroma of light, watery caramel. Taste is sweet caramel and toffee. An inoffensive and easy drinking example of the style.

Can. Pours amber with an off white head. Molasses and nutty sweetness, with a weird sweet dark wheaty base. Sweet and gross. Pretty tough to choke down the whole can.

Bottle. More brown than red, tan head. Earthy and slightly roasty dark malts, nutty undertones, dry peanut skin, mildly bitter finish. These guys know how to make tasty g-free beers.

Can poured into a shaker pint glass. Very deep reddish brown color with a thick, rich head. Good looking brew. Smooth and velvety texture like a milk stout. Flavor is sweet and nutty. Very malty. Lots of caramel notes. Drinks much more like a stout than an amber.

This beer contains chestnuts and molasses, and you can really tell. Nutty aroma with a sugary rum-like background, kind of smokey. Clear, reddish tan color. Flavor is not so much bitter as sharp, with dull sweetness that hangs around. Has a cola like carbonation feel, like a mixer might. Very interesting for any type of beer.

Pint can. Nose is sweet and malty, lightly toasty with very pleasant chocolate. Pours a deep, dark chestnut edging into mahogany, with a creamy-rocky tan head. Watery-thin body with smooth, gentle roast resolving to an airy mocha finish. Relatively dry, no alcohol, a little flat. An interesting earthy, near-bitter herbal note in the aftertaste, perhaps the chestnut? The roast covers up a lot of the flaws brought by the buckwheat, and this is by far the best beer I’ve had from them -- I’d be ecstatic if I couldn’t consume gluten.

16oz can labeled at Glutenberg Red Ale in the U.S. Pours a dark amber color with a frothy beige head. The aroma is malty with a slight smoke scent. The flavor is weak with grains and burnt taste of millet. Takes some getting used to as I am not big on the taste of millet.
