thebeertourist (2060), Oslo, Norway Dec 18, 2008 Bottle. Pour deep yellowish brown with a lacing tan head. Sweet, spicy and yeasty caramel aroma. Hints of aniseed among the spices, otherwise yeasty caramel flavours. Noticeable alcohol. Decent. Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 17, 2008 Bottled at Kerstbierfestival 2007. A deep red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and spices. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and toffee, as well as lighter notes of spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. The body is powerful and the alcohol leaves a burn on the tongue. Looks like it is full of sediment. Not a good colour. Lovely balanced malt and hops aroma with strong tobacco notes. Tastes like it’s slightly infected. Straight forward yeasty Belgian stuff with obvious card in the finish. All over the place. Is it drunk? oh6gdx (6583), Vaasa, Finland Dec 20, 2007 Bottled@Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Brown colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol and caramel malts. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some notes of plum and dry dark fruits in it. Pleasant.
