Bottle on train to Irkusk. Color is dark amber-brown with an initial tight small beige cap. Aroma is lots of what I believe to be intentional butter/manageable diacetyl. Spicy too, so reminiscent of gingerbread cookies but bad, industrially-manufactured ones like boxed gingersnaps. Buttery and also phenols. Silky palate. Tastes alright, with nice bready malt character. The diacetyl/butter is well-integrated. Honey, molasses, and again with the phenolic gingersnaps. Drinkable, though.

Very light brown. Only a tiny bit of head on this one. The aroma of diacetyl - again in a way that must have been intended, in that Czech sort of way - and the rest is dark malts and caramels. The taste is the same - caramels with light diacetyl for character. The body has some fullness - there are definitely people who would like this more than I do.
