3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 12 oz bottle shared in Bozeman MT. Pours a hazy brownish amber with an off white head. Malty nose with caramel notes. Flavor of caramel and toasted nuts. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, and quickly vanishing sweet finish.

I was definitely disappointed in the flavor. The flavors were not in balance and tasted sour but not in a good way. This is probably the worst Scotch Ale I’ve had and I’m glad I only bought one bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy gold color with a soapy head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of vanilla, caramel malts, chocolate, oak and bourbon. Flavor is vanilla, oak, smoke, caramel and roasted barley with a very faint hoppiness. Body feels heavy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Pretty good.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Only of two Scottish ales I have tried that i like. The smokey peat really comes out in the beer. When sampling it I was thinking that it would be amazing with some barbequed pork ribs.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aromas of caramel and faint booze. Pours a clear copper color with a thin white head. Taste is sweet like caramel with a hint of alcohol. Slightly malty. Not getting much peat. Palate is a little thin. Overall not a bad beer but lacks the umph I was hoping for. What the hell is twerking?

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour to shaker. Nice variation on the scotch ale. . . a nice mild flavor compared to the typical heavy malty peaty palate. That is not to say the peat is not there. It is nicely done on the palate. The aftertaste is not very complex, but it is good. Well done!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle - lightly hazy dark red - slight soapy lace - toffee sweetness hits the nose first, light gummy esters, then some pretty strong peat character, light mineral - low carbonation, medium body - moderately sweet, but actually surprisingly dry for the style and abv - however, this compliments the mineral and strong earthy peat flavors in the beer - flavor is very earthy, moderately smoky - very strong peat, especially through the finish - decent brew, but you need to be a fan of particularly peaty scotch to enjoy it, as this very much reminds me of some of the strongly peaty scotches I have had.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a somewhat cloudy copper color with a minimal white head. The aroma has caramel, peat, some oak, and light smoky elements. As opposed to the aroma, the taste contains a surprisingly large amount of smokiness. In addition, I find earthy malts, toffee and peat. Aftertaste is a smoky toffee. Medium bodied here. Unfortunately, I found the texture and carbonation to feel flat, similar to flat pop. Overall, I found this to taste pretty good. But the flat impression I I received in my mouth was a big negative for me. I found that pretty gross, and it hurt my rating considerably.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer has a medium body with a thin but lively feel and a medium finish. You can really taste the peat but it is much more astringent than other scotch ales I have had (like Claymore or Old Bastard).

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of smoke, peat, caramel malts. Dark amber hue with an average off-white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor is very sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is medium/heavy body and oily soft. Overall the peat malts are just not very good.
