COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged for several months in used, Templeton rye whiskey barrels, this Belgian style ale combine the best of the brewhouse with the best of the cellar. A relatively simple malt bill utilizes the finest two row pilsner malt, with just a touch of crystal and aromatic malt. A generous amount of house-made dark candi beet sugar is added for both color and flavor.

Thanks, Andy. Pours a nice copper color with an off-white head. Strong whiskey aroma, lots of vanilla, and a decent amount of oak. Sweet caramel and brown sugar, some dark fruits, and a bit of alcohol. Nice flavor to this. Plenty of dark fruit, brown sugar, and caramel. Big whiskey and barrel character. Nice vanilla and oak notes, some slight alcohol, and a hint of tobacco. A little thin on the body, but good otherwise.

750 ml bottle poured a hazy amber with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, toffee, light fruittiness and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bourbon, oak, toffee, fruittiness and light tobacco with a smooth lingering bourbon finish.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis. Pours a touch hazy, orange appearance with a cream colored head. Toasty malty, toffee, light whiskey, dark fruity, somewhat spicy aroma. Wow, of all the Templeton barrel aged beers I’ve had, this has the most Templeton characteristics. Rich, spicy rye whiskey, vanilla, oaky, light chocolate, caramel flavor. The beer doesn’t seem to have too much character but the Templeton implements plenty. Pretty decent stuff.

Bottle shared by Jay at tasting at my house. Pours brown with tan head. Nose and taste of whiskey, oak and malt with undercurrent of ripe dark fruit. Some beet or cane sugar in background. Comes off as an average quad that was heavily benefited by the barrel aging process. Medium body.

Bottle courtesy of cokecan and shared at a private tasting. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin fizzy offwhite head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, bourbon, caramel, stone fruit. The taste is tart fruit, toffee, booze, whiskey. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild booze.

Sweet and boozy. THe barrel adds a nice touch but the base beer I feel could use some work.

750mL bottle, sent from khoffman43 (thanks a lot, Kyle), pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, dark dried fruits, mild whiskey notes, and some mild spices. Flavour reveals expert barrel aging, with notes of dried dark fruits, brown sugar, prominent whiskey barrels, and some clove-like spices. Slight tart notes on the finish, with medium sweetness. Fairly complex, with a solid balance of flavours. Great stuff.

Bomber. Rich reddish amber pour with a nice initial head that fades. Whiskey, wood, and plum like fruitiness. Very good.
