COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We at Brau Bros are very fortunate to have the opportunity to team up with a small town coffee roaster who takes coffee as seriously as we take beer. The folks at Cherry Bean Coffee Co., like us, make extremely small batches with great care and attention to detail. We’ve worked closely to select and roast a unique blend of beans for this ale.

An eclectic ingredient list features a variety of fermentables. Roasted barley, with coffee and chocolate malt is showcased. However, a sizeable amount of wheat helps with body and head retention. Dark candi sugar, confected at the brewery, is employed late in the boil to build complexity and is reminiscent of dark chocolate and ripe plum.

Finally, multiple roasts of Cherry Bean’s organic, fair trade coffee are added to the ale. Partially during the brewing process, in an effort to claim nuance and character only achieved with the heat of the brewing process, and partially towards the end of fermentation, to capture aromatics as well as classic coffee flavor without extensive bitterness. Melding roasted coffee and roasted barley, we hope to bring out the best in each, creating a unique and tasty brew!

Minnesota Winterfest 2012. Black color with no head. Aroma of acrid, dark coffee beans. Tastes like chewing on espresso beans.

Bottle poured a translucent dark reddish brown nearly black with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt and bitter chocolate with a smooth lingering coffee finish.

The aroma is coffee, malts and a hint of fruit. The flavor is coffee, dark malts and a mild acidity/tartness in the finish. Although I am not a coffee drinker and don’t normally care for these kind of beers, I could appreciate this and it was pretty decent.

Pitch black with brown head. Coffee and burnt malt aroma. A rich stout dominated by chocolate, coffee & roasted malts. What’s different from your standard stout is the sour cherry notes this has. Full bodied...a little sharp due to the cherry. I don’t love this but respectable.

Light cherry wood flavor, has a bite to it, few drinks in tastes like cherry flavored dirt. But you get used to it.

Really nice coffee stout, coffee really smacks you in the face. Nice brown head poured from tap. Mouthfeel is really pleasant, coating your mouth in roasted malt and coffee goodness. One of my favorites from Brau! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark black with small tan head. Roasty and ashy aroma of coffee and caramel with a hint of fruit. Full body and beautiful lacing. Great beer!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a light tan mocha head. Rich aroma of coffee roast and dark chocolate. The aroma is nice but isn’t over stated. Medium mouthfeel. Very roasty upfront with a lingering bitterness. Some leather notes as well. Ends with a little too bitter after taste than I would really like but otherwise it’s ok.

Thanks to Jakers90 for the bottle. Served in a tulip. Pours near-black with a thin light tan head that quickly subsides into a thin collar without leaving more than a spot or two of lace behind. The nose has a slight cherry presence along with a good dose of coffee and roast. Flavor has a nice combination of cherry and roast, finishing with some dark chocolate. Body is medium to a slightly-dry finish. Pretty good.

12oz bottle from mtjoseph, thanks Mark! Pours a very deep brown, mostly black colored body with a finger-width, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is solid. Rich, dark and milky chocolates with lots of fresh coffee and roasts. A touch of vanilla, a light caramel sweetness, and barely a hint of dark fruits. Flavor is similar. Lots of roasts and fresh coffee balanced with plenty of rich, dark and milky chocolates. There is a touch of vanilla and a hint of caramel before this finishes dry, roasty, and moderately bitter with plenty of coffee and chocolates. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a really nice coffee stout. Pretty straightforward, but full of coffee, roasts, and rich chocolates. I’m not sure why people were expecting cherry flavors...the coffee company is named "Cherry Bean Coffee." Good beer.

Pours almost black with a dark tan head. Coffee and cherries on the nose. Sour cherries on the palate followed by big coffee flavors. Very nice.
