3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 6, 2007
Parting gift from RBSG 2007 - Black, thin tan creamy head. Nose held soft notes of roasted coffee and cream, with underlying charred chocoalte and toffee brittle tones. Well rounded roasted milk chocolate, coffee and cream flavors throughout, and just a touch of hops in the finish. Light to medium bodied and smooth, drying, bittersweet finish. Not bad at all for sessions. Thanks Joe?

Received 12-oz sample bottle to try from distributor. Another nice looking ACL printed bottle. Pours an opaque very dark brown brew with a creamy thick off white head. Nice lacing on the disolve. Aroma has character of dark chocolate, coffee, and some spicey herbs. Taste is smooth, tasted/burnt malt, some coffee and spice. Finish is a little metalic and thin. The "Cream" Stout may come from the creamy head, the finish is a little thin to most other sweet stouts I’ve tried.

Bottle. Pours dark brown (almost black) with amber highlights. Beautiful off-white creamy head. Aromas of dry chocolate, coffee, toffee and hints of spice (clove?). Pleasant aroma. Minimal carbonation. Dry on the palate. Creamy. Notes of coffee. Slightly earthy. Finishes creamy.

Pilz,cream stout,ipa,scotch ale and
strawberry wheat are available in
bottles.A free pour of each was had
at a MGM sampling.I picked up 6 pack
of cream stout since it was the only
one I tried that had any taste.Very
light and watery finish.I will sample
this again on a hot summer day as
the alc./vol in this brew should slam
hard and fast.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - OCT 26, 2006
Sampled draught at the Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis, October 7 2006. Near-opaque black, small creamy white head and a bit of lace, looks like nitro but not sure....chocolate and coffee for typical roasty nose, faint hints of fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme) but fairly weak overall....chocolaty-sweet body is fairly pleasant at first but the light roast becomes overbearing towards the thin, papery finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - FEB 6, 2005
On tap at the brewpub. Pours coal black with a dark brown head. The head is solid and thick in the pint glass. Visually, a very pretty pour. Strong chocolate aroma. Ale has a strong roasted flavor, but the body is lighter than I prefer in a stout. Moderate bitterness and mild carbonation. A solid workman stout. Come visiit this fledgling brewpub located in a town of 200 people!

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2007 2004 Autumn Brew Review: Black Coloring. Watery Overall. Some Roasts and Coffee..Agree with JK on the Burnt Popcorn.
Aug ’07 Rerated: Dark Brown Color with Sandy Head. Sweet and Bitter Coffee Roasts Aroma. Medium Bodied...Creamy Mouthfeel...The Sweet Malt and Bitter Coffee Roasts Make it Hard to Not Visualize Burnt Popcorn, lol...Dry Roast Finish. The Coffee Roasts Might be Just a Bit Harsh to Balance Well With this Sweet Stout.

Autumn Brew Review 2004. Pours a nice, black color with a tiny head. Good roasted aroma. More roasted malt and coffee in the flavor. Unfortuantely, the body strikes me as watery. Not terrible.
