2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
[Bottle] Forgotten Flem? Iím sorry, but despite the spelling differences, the name of this still makes me think of something that somebody with a bronchial infecetion hacked up and forgot about. Not a good image to start out my trial of this, but obviously Iím not going to take points off for it. The beer does look great--hazy amber with a billowing off-white head that takes forever to subside. Aroma is just a musty barley, and that is about it. Not terrible, just very, very plain. Taste is...whoa, something is wrong here. Biting astringency overpowers the other flavors that although a little too malt-driven, otherwise seem like they could have been okay. Medium-mouthfeel, very dry, long finish where the barley dominates. Iím going to hope that this is a bad bottle and/or batch, and give this a shot again next time that I know fresh stuff is around.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle: The aroma is moderate-heavy dusty yeast, light pepper, apple, faint citrus, some strange grassy/floral notes. It pours a mostly transparent amber with a touch of haze. It has a very large creamy yellow-tinged off-white head that leaves a lot of soapy clumps on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of apple and strange citrus flavors. The finish has lots of dusty yeast, moderate herbal notes, lemon peel, pepper, grass, and floral notes. Itís light bodied with heavy carbonation that comes across prickly at times. Overall, this just tastes strange and the flavor combination is rather unpleasant.

Bottle. Cloudy golden/yellow pour with white head. Smells of wheat and sweet malts. Decent farmhouse type ale.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Itís heading in the right direction. Hazy, orange hues with a moderately pillowed head. Citric fruits and bready yeast, though the flavor seems a bit thin. Moderate palate without substantial acidity. As for the name, I could do without any suggestion of "phlegm". Bottle.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle to Tulip glass, about a 8oz serving. Nose is spicy, apple cidar and some orange peel maybe, a little sour tartness to it. Picking up some dried fruit but not very potent. Pours clear and a vibrant orange color. High carbonation with a rocky off-white head leaving laces on the glass. Taste is not too bitter but has a tart spicy yeast character than shines here. Light bodied and very carbonated, almost just foaming on the palate. Finish is fairly short; its dry, crisp and refreshing. After a few sips, I started tasting a slight toffee malt flavor in the finish. Fan of the style, but this beer is just average.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle; thanks Tyler!! Pours clear dark orange with huge, eggy white head fading slowly; earthy lemons, mild spice, maybe some rye; grassy and light wheat; drinks with a doughy dryness and stale lemons; chalky dryness in the finish; not sure what it is, but there is a spice or malt type rubbing me the wrong way; kind of think itís rye; either way, it works more in the aroma than it does flavor wise

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
One of the more interesting and unique beer names Iíve seen. The beer itself is a hazy golden color with a large light beige head with good retention. Aroma is black pepper and lemons. Taste is similar. More peppery and bitter than most saisons, and not quite as funky or barnyardy, if thatís a word.
