Black as motor oil, with no head. Sweet chocolate/coffee aroma. Taste is very sweet and a bit boozy. Notes of dark fruit, toffee, dark chocolate and espresso. Nice taste but a tad cloying. I little under-carbonated. Port like. This is good but not great.

grate. bootle of beer i believe from randomgarbage during free beer week. thank you, my brother. aroma of black licorice, tar, molasses. taste is big potent molasses, rum coated fudge. finishes with some tar-laden roast. low carbonation. a tad too much unbalanced fudgy sweetness knocks this down on the budlight drinkability index. potent. grate.

Aroma is coffee, chocolate and earthy malts. The flavor is coffee, chocolate, dark fruit (although only slight vinous notes) and a mix of tartness and acidity in the finish.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AWISLguy (668) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2013
Bottle from Breeze Thru. Pours a very dark black with a tan head. Some dripping lacing. Aroma is of dark chocolate, molasses and a lot of black patent malts. Taste is of very bitter dark chocolate, expresso and a strong earthiness, with hints of plastic. Medium strength, but also quite bittersweet. A bit rough and charcoally. Not a stellar attempt.

Pours black. Super charred taste. Unfortunately not very balanced like their Rye Wyne. Tons of black patent in this one that is sharp. Not easy drinking.
