3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark black pour, almost no head and an aroma of nice roasty dark malt and a bit of soy/chocolate. Flavor is also very nice woody and slightly smokey roasted dark malt, hints of coffee and a decent strong chocolate and alcohol presence all the way through. Worth picking up @ under $10/4 pack.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a black color with a small white head. A smoky cherry nose. The flavor is dominated by dry black Licorice and ash, smoke, dark chocolate. A bit unusual. Mineral flavors. Roasted malts. Interesting. Good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I drank this in honor of my buddy, Jazz88, who made partner at his law firm--there will be more beers toasted when weíre next together. This beer was an o.k. toast to it but not great. Bittersweet, used by another rater, is the right one, as the sweetness pops through at odd moments. But the basic complexion of this isnít bad--roasted and chocolate, moderate weight and palate, reasonably drinkable. Bottle.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I thought maybe mine was bad somehow but after reading some reviews maybe not. Seemed like no carbonation. No head. Big alcohol in the taste. I didnít even want to finish it.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark cola color with very little head. Aroma is dark roasted grain, with butter and molasses. Flavor matches the aroma. Palate is fairly light and has a bittersweet finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beer pours black with basically no head. After some swirling there is a beige ring of foam around the glass. Iím getting milk chocolate, slight coffee, some dark fruit, maybe plum or date. Maybe a tanic grain note. Some molasses. Sweet chocolate taste with a coffee bitterness. Some molasses in the middle. Mild carbonation and a medium body. Mild alcohol burn. Decent tasting beer, a bit of a different RIS.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. My 4pack seemed to suffer from weak carbonation. No real head at all on top of the rust y red black body. Comes across like a firkin...no force carbonation. Big roasty chocolate flavor, some mild well incorporated warmth. The flavors are nice, but the body is hollow, watery. Tasty, but clearly having some troubles on the bottling side of the equation with this one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to shaker. A milky, coffee taste; light alcohol burn. Hint of chocolate. Just so-so for the style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Undated 12 oz. bottle pours a dark brown with small tan head but good lacing. Aroma has licorice, coffee/cream, and some chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet with a bitter finish with some booziness, as expected. Body is full with a silky smooth mouthfeel and slight carbonation. This is my favorite from Brau Bros. so far, and is right up there with some of my other favorite Imperial Stouts.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 8-15-13. There was about a year of aging on this. Very nice smell features pretzel, chocolate, coffee with cream, caramel, and a touch of lemon. Pours a dark brown with a small to moderate amount of tan head. Produces good lacing. Looks good. Flavors of black licorice (anise) and dark chocolate brownie. Some bitterness in the taste. Coffee finish. Full body; filling. Silky and lively in the palate. Very nice beer across the board. The third from a four pack that I consumed. I donít remember the previous two, which I drank months ago, being this good, so I conclude that aging does this beer good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Super boozy and lots of licorice notes. A little too hot to get much flavor.
