COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours black with a tan head and some spotty lacing in the glass, the aroma is mostly of chocolate with some roastiness as well, the flavor has a ton of chocolate with some caramel as well, the mouthfeel is extremely smooth as it goes down, darn good stuff here.

Bought from red wagon in rochester. Taste of chocolate and coffee is clearly present and proves to be quite delicious! Great beer for the coming cold weather.

Overall not a bad everyday Stout. Not much of an aroma. Apprearance was nice and dark, with a thin rich brown head. Alcohol was not overpowering and the taste was smooth until the last sip.

Nice coffee/dark chocolate finish. Aroma is average for a stout. Bitterness seems to be more from the roasting of the malt (black patent?) Than the hops

Bottle from Champanes, this stout had a black-brown pour with a three to four finger head of light tan to tan colored bubbles, the effervescence was hard to see since the beer was opaque but I do see some good streams of bubbles at the side of the glass, this drink left small spots and small fingers of lacing on the glass, there were brown spots and slivers of sediment? on the bottom of the bottle, the aromas were roasted malt with chocolate, a little coffee with milk chocolate and malt sweetness, the flavors were roasted malt with some chocolate and a little coffee, caramel and chocolate sweetness, the finish had a little bite from roasted malt and some coffee while roasted malt and sweetness trails afterwards on the tongue, the mouth feel was about medium and gave a little creamy feel on the palate, this sweet stout had nice aromas and flavors with a sweetness that balances the beer for the most part, it is not overly sweet, the presentation was very nice, and it was easy to drink.

Pours pitch black. Seriously. I held it up to light and could not see through it. Brownish tan head. not much lacing on the glass. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate and molasses. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Nice creamy mouthfeel with little carbonation and silky smooth on the palate. I enjoyed this Milk Stout through and through.

The rating for this is right on. It’s a rather attractive stout with some oat flavor and that subtle lactose sweetness, but also a well-rounded stout flavor. The body is average, but it is very drinkable, with the English malty/fruity stuff going on that the commercial description trumpets. Bottle.

(12oz bottle thanks to Exiled) cloudy deep brown with a ring of fine brown bubbles. Nose of brine, olives, milk chocolate, and a bit of fudge. Taste of unsweet coffee, a bit of umami, watery, smoke, and I don’t like the linger. Seems old.
