COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Bottle: The aroma is a nice mixture of chocolate, roasted coffee, and a hint of nuts. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a one finger tan head that fades to a thin film and leaves spotty lacing. The flavor starts with moderate milk chocolate and a touch of vanilla. The finish has light-moderate roasted coffee and a hint of fruit. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice Sweet Stout and I can definitely see myself drinking plenty of this in the near future.

Thanks to the kind soul that opened this at the recent Tampa crew tasting. Pours a dark brown with a white head. Nose is some roast, chocolate, hint of smoke, and slight ash. Flavor is chocolate, lactose, a bit of licorice and ash, and a hint of dark fruit. Smooth mouthfeel and light to medium in body.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable brew.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a small, light brown head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt and milk chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, milk chocolate, a little lactic, mild bitterness, notes of anise and some oats. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, long finish. Overall, a solid stout that really has no glaring faults at all. Definitely one of the best (if not the best) Brau Brothers beers that I have had.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a smallish head. Toasted oats and sweetness on the nose. Taste is similar - the milk comes out. Good stuff.

Poured a deep dark and opaque brown with a light inch of tan head, quickly becoming a light tan ring. No lacing to speak of. The smell is dominated by dark fruit and coffee with hints of burnt black malt and smoke. The flavor is very sweet and creamy in a very classic milk stout way. Nice hints of light smokey flavors along with coffee and some dark fruits. A bit of light astingency but not so much to detract from the beer to noticeably. The mouthfeel is light and creamy, even a bit sticky. A pretty solid Milk Stout overall and nicely drinkable.
