Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Fantastic beer. This brewery has achieved something great here. As good as Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout Smooth coffee and chocolate taste. Alcohol content not high enough to mess you up. as a result, leaves a refreshing taste. no complaints here.

Pours an opaque black with a finger sized tan head. Nose is caramel, molasses and malt. Thick viscosity and very creamy on the palate. The taste is full of dark roasted malt, oats, caramel and a hint of coffee. A touch of hops on the finish helps this beer to stay dry and not too sweet. An excellent milk stout. Try it with barbeque chicken.

Pours nearly black with a fine tan head that faded into a decent lacing. Aroma was of coffee, cocoa, malt. Taste was as follows: malt, coffee, toffee, chocolate hints and a smooth moderate hop finish with an afterglow of coffee and cocoa. Palate is good. This is a very smooth and taste oatmeal stout.

5/04/14 at Red Cow Minneapolis, on tap in pint glass. Aroma is of roasty, toasty malt, as it should be. As dark as midnight with a thick, lingering head. Intense flavor of deeply roasted malt. Malt Heads rejoice! This is a yummy stout! Please sir, may I have another? ---Rated via the Gridfather

Bottle. Dark brown chocolate pour, thin lacing and an aroma of some sweet chocolate and sour nuts. Flavor is lightly malty, hints of chocolate and cooked vegetables. Not sure if this bottle was off, but this didn’t seem quite right.
