Pretty average stout. Tried it on recommendation of employee at specialty liquor store and glad I only purchased one. Good pour, good nose but average, watery taste that was not very carbonated.

Really nice complexity with relatively good balance. Found this to be quite pleasant and inviting of the 2nd Pint!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JoePeesie (829) - Long Lake, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2012
Pours a jet black with almost no head. Nose and taste are coffee & oatmeal. Decent but pretty common. Nothing I would need to try again. That said I would drink it again.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of cream, coffee, roasted malts and toast. Very dark ruby hue that sits almost black in the glass. Small tan head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitterness. Palate is light bodied and light carbonation. Overall a nice stout.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 FURLYSURIOUS (262) - Orono, Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Looks like a fresh pint of black coffee, near zero clarity, thin latte cap.
Smells of fresh cream, oily coffee beans, sweet honey, more coffee, really a pleasant aroma I think.
Taste - milk and oatmeal as promised, aftertaste like a dark roast with half and half, the oats take a back seat to the lingering latte flavors - mouthfeel could stand to get beefed up a bit.
Overall, this is a solid offering from a brewery that is really hit or miss for me, I’d recommend this to any stout fan
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 benfergy (178) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - FEB 3, 2012
The Moo Joos pours as a black beer with relatively little head (for a stout). It has a rather strong aroma of yeast and dark malt. The taste has a good deal of balance, some sweetness, a hint of biterness from hops. Also I taste a slight amount of smoke. The palate is pretty good; thick and easy going down. A pretty good beer.

12oz bottle pours dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, lactose, molasses, and licorice. Taste of sweet chocolate, coffee, smooth lactose, toasted oats, finishing with slight anise and some bitterness. A solid sweet stout.
