COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Dark brown pour, black appearance. Minimal head/carbonation. Aroma is coffee and cream, leaning towards the sweet cream side. Light vanilla. Flavor is roast malt and mild dark fruit that finishes with a black olive flavor. Somewhat dry and roasty. Relatively thin mouthfeel. Drinkable.

8/11/12. GTMW. Black pour with a small tan head. Coffee and cream on the aroma with chocolate and roasted malt. Nice flavor of coffee, chocolate, and roast, along with some caramel and sweet cream. Silky mouthfeel. Not bad!

Tap. Darker khaki head on a nearly black body. Oats chocolate and some sweet grainy notes in the aroma. Nice dark chocolate, oats, vanilla, slight caramel sweetness and a bitter coffee finish. Medium to lighter body. Not bad.

very dark brown with medium head. plenty of chocolate and coffee. doesn’t seem particularly sweet to me, but it could just be the coffee acidity that covers it up. either way, it’s a very well done stout.

Bottle. Pours a leathery dark brown with a thin head and aromas of chocolate, cream, leather and a little bit of earth. Flavor is earthy, milky and chocolate. Mouthfeel is a little slippery with a chocolate and earth finish.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2013 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Very good aroma, coffee scent. Nice, creamy pour with some head. Great taste and almost an oily finish, but very nice. Sweet with strong coffee notes but not overpowering. Very nice from a town of 220 people

Pours deep black with lactose notes and light vanilla sweetness. A light creamy texture which allows th lactose dominate with a fabulous nuanced bit of toasted sweet grains. Nice oily finish. Love this stout!

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2012 Really good sweet stout. Pours dark with a bit of tan head. Smells like coffee, tobacco, vanilla, milk chocolate, and banana. Smooth and slick palate. Very milky and creamy with nice chocolate and coffee flavours coming through. Roasted malts. Sour cherry finish. Delicious!

Tasty, with a massive roasted java front that screams fresh coffee. That no beans were used in the recipe never fails to impress me; the magic of malt is a wonderful thing. Sweetens as it warms, developing underlying notes of chocolate and dried fruit. Finishes dry, with a prolonged coffee fade. Moo Joos makes a nice pint, a bit of a middle ground between a sweet and a dry oatmeal stout.
