Lots of sweet roasted malt aroma and flavor. Very modest hop bitterness. Dark brown, almost black, color. Thick, slippery, mouth feel.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a small, light brown head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt and milk chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, milk chocolate, a little lactic, mild bitterness, notes of anise and some oats. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, long finish. Overall, a solid stout that really has no glaring faults at all. Definitely one of the best (if not the best) Brau Brothers beers that I have had.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a smallish head. Toasted oats and sweetness on the nose. Taste is similar - the milk comes out. Good stuff.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bradbalk (9) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - AUG 7, 2011 does not count
Poured a deep dark and opaque brown with a light inch of tan head, quickly becoming a light tan ring. No lacing to speak of.
The smell is dominated by dark fruit and coffee with hints of burnt black malt and smoke.
The flavor is very sweet and creamy in a very classic milk stout way. Nice hints of light smokey flavors along with coffee and some dark fruits. A bit of light astingency but not so much to detract from the beer to noticeably.
The mouthfeel is light and creamy, even a bit sticky.
A pretty solid Milk Stout overall and nicely drinkable.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hamilton23 (551) - Alpine, California, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Poured from 12 oz bottle. Pours black with about 2-3 fingers of creamy thick tan head. Aroma is toasted oats and some cocoa. Taste is some chocolate and toasted malts. Super smooth. Not terribly sweet, but still really good.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is wonderful chocolatety, nutty, roasted notes, oatmeal, almost a milk like scent, and just the slightest bit of alcohol. Appearance is a deep dark black with a medium to thick tan head that lingers. Taste is like malty chocolate milk, but in a really really good way. This stuff goes down super easy and for a big malty brew is quite drinkable. Overall, Really nice I like this one a lot. Cheers!

Heavily roasted grain. Black beer. Medium sweet with lactose. Clear, smooth palate. A solid lacto/sweet stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 badnewsbeers (2316) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Black pour from a 12oz bottle. Small brown head. Aroma of a chocolate milk shake with added coffee. Lactose and cocoa everywhere. Flavor is very sweet and milky as well. Has a slight sourness to it...this concerns me slightly. That being said, this is mostly what I look for in a milk stout. HUGE milkiness is a big plus!
