COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

pour is dark brown, appearing black in the glass. Thin tan head aroma is coffee and nice milky chocolate. Roasted malt flavour, chocolate. Medium sweetness. Light burnt bitterness in the finish. A bit light on the palate but overall it’s ok.

Heavily roasted grain. Black beer. Medium sweet with lactose. Clear, smooth palate. A solid lacto/sweet stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a light brown halo that fades fast and leaves no lacing. Aroma is heavily sweet and creamy, like real vanilla ice cream. Very creamy mouthfeel with big roasted malts, chocolate, and a hint of burnt coffee. Definitely a sweet, milky aftertaste.

Bottle from khoffman43 pours deep dark amber with a tan head with little retention. Nose of coffee grinds. Taste begins with coffee grinds, light chocolate. Mild bitterness as most of balance comes from the roast. Body is medium, if not a tad thin.

Bottle. Pours black with a small head that quickly fades to a ring. Aroma is nice, chocolate milk, light roasted coffee, anise, and a light fruitiness. Taste is a tad bland but not bad. Chocolate, coffee, anise, and cream, but all are muted. Medium to thick body, very creamy, slight chalky too. Ok sweet stout.

Pours very deep brown near black with a ring of soda like fizz. Light aromas of roasted grains and kind of a cream soda vanilla thing. Smooth crisp flavor starting out with a sweet sparkling carbonated light grain but passing through a light hearted British malty fruity ale thing to a final resting place that brings out a light chocolate coffee bitterness and roasted tones held under but the light sweet nature of the overall beer. Earthy dark character with a hint of creaminess and toasted bread burnt on the corners. Decent brew for a modest sweet stout.

Among the best Brau Brothers brews, has a little coffee flavor in it, then then oatmeal smoothness takes over. Only has a hint of the milk influence, overall its a good ale.

Dark brown pour, black appearance. Minimal head/carbonation. Aroma is coffee and cream, leaning towards the sweet cream side. Light vanilla. Flavor is roast malt and mild dark fruit that finishes with a black olive flavor. Somewhat dry and roasty. Relatively thin mouthfeel. Drinkable.
