COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Bottle. A - Pitch black with a small, foamy, bubbly, thinish, cafe colored head. Disappears pretty fast leaving a slightly patchy, thin lace. S - Interesting aroma. Starts with a slightly smokey, roasted malt. This gives way to a chocolate and espresso aroma with a slight sweetness. A faint vinous tart/astringent aroma. T - Starts with the faint charred, smokey flavor. This quickly fades to a milk and dark chocolate along with a hint of roasted coffee. Hints of sweet lactose/creamy taste starts here with a nice undertone. Finishes with a slight tart and earthy flavor. M - Medium body and good carbonation. Very silky smooth. Really nice body. D - Easy to drink with interesting mix of flavors. Taste like a milk stout along with a smokey and slightly tart flavor. I could regularly drink this. Notes: Interesting milk stout. Nice flavors with an interesting smokey kick. Great body and nice flavor. Not amazing, but very nice.

Thanks to Bob for the bottle! Poured clear, deeper ambery-brown with a sticky cap of dark tan head.. looked very good in the glass. The aroma picked up sweet, milky chocolates and buttery notes with a hint of molasses-crusted biscuity notes beneath.. sweet, smooth, and very desserty impression.. I very much enjoyed it. The flavor found buttermiky-y chocolates, smooth rolled oats, and vanilla at the core, with light earthy and cocoa bitterness around.. more milky chocolates and complementary roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium-bodied with a very smooth feel across the palate.. the levels and placement of bitterness and roast worked perfectly.. just excellent stuff. This was surprisingly good, and I hope more people get to try it when itís fresh.

Pours deep black with lactose notes and light vanilla sweetness. A light creamy texture which allows th lactose dominate with a fabulous nuanced bit of toasted sweet grains. Nice oily finish. Love this stout!

5/04/14 at Red Cow Minneapolis, on tap in pint glass. Aroma is of roasty, toasty malt, as it should be. As dark as midnight with a thick, lingering head. Intense flavor of deeply roasted malt. Malt Heads rejoice! This is a yummy stout! Please sir, may I have another? ---Rated via the Gridfather
