3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrnkMcDermott (2621) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2012$2 single at HyVee, Ankeny, IA. Nice sweet cocoa nose from the first pour. Filling a whole glass just brings out more of that milk chocolately goodness. Brownish-black in the glass, with a thick brown head. Taste is not as sweet as the nose would lead you to expect, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead, I get a regular malty sweetness of dark roast malt without being overdone. Not that estery, instead a good balance of malt with, well, malt. Bitterness is just there for support, except for a slight tickle at the top of the palate. Plenty of body to this, even though it goes down easily and quickly. Now I’m wishing these guys would expand to our area.

Earthy aroma, a little malty and toasty. Starts out with a little sweetness and zest in the mouth which quickly transitions to a slightly bittersweet swallow and a pretty clean finish. Overall, a nice milk stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jeremyh70 (351) - Missouri, USA - FEB 22, 2013
An opaque dark brown color with a creamy mocha head and decent lacing. Roasty aroma with light coffee and milk chocolate. Subtle hint of fruit. Taste begins with roast and coffee flavors then bittersweet chocolate and a lactose flavor. Mouthfeel is fairly creamy and full bodied but not as much as I expected. Carbonation is medium/ high. Decent attempt at a oatmeal and a milk stout but doesn't really impress as either.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Pours a still, dark brown to black. The aroma has nice coffee, chocolate, roasty, and lactic sweetness. Some burnt caramel comes through as well. The taste is like a choclate covered espresso bean. Really like the way this beer tastes. I wish this had a little more carbonation. That’s all that’s really keeping this beer from being a standout.

Bottle from khoffman43 pours deep dark amber with a tan head with little retention. Nose of coffee grinds. Taste begins with coffee grinds, light chocolate. Mild bitterness as most of balance comes from the roast. Body is medium, if not a tad thin.
