COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ring Neck Braun Ale is the initial offering in the Brau Single Batch Series of beers. A perfect autumn ale, this big double nut brown ale is dry and fruity, yet surprisingly drinkable. Nutty flavor is derived from both biscuit malt and toasted oats. A hint of raspberry and classic British hops round out this mild and complex brown ale.

This is a great brown ale. Nutty, chocolate taste with a hint of raspberry. Damn good brew. I have yet to be let down by a brau brother beer.

12oz bottle. Deep burgundy-brown color. Thin, oily head. Fuggles and sweet specialty malt aroma. A pretty well done, complex, American Brown ale. Sweet and malty, not unlike a good Scotch ale at times, but the oats make it quite Stout-reminiscent. Throw in the pleasantly mellow raspberry tones at the end and you have quite an interesting beer. Toasty nut notes as well. I get a nice bitterness in the aroma, but the malt really dominates, soft carbonation, true to style I suppose. Worth seeking out.

Dark brown colored body with a light tan head. The nose is rich caramel with hints of milk chocolate. There is also some leather along with a little bit of oranges. The taste is fairly dry with some leather and a little bit of apples core. There is also a little bit of dirt in the finish. Decent.

Thanks to Deliriumfest for this one in a trade! A-Completely transparent chestnut brown colored body. Pours with an approximately 2 finger foamy off-white head. Head eventually fades completely. No lacing left behind in the glass. S-Nose has a very sweet, sticky nose of caramel and toffee, behind this is a hint of nuttiness. T-Initial flavor of sweet caramel and toffee. These flavors intensify for the finish and add a hint of roasted nuttiness. Flavor is clean otherwise. P-Medium tingly carbonation and medium weight, drinkable body. Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. O- This is a nice English Brown Ale. I haven’t had an English Brown in awhile and it was nice to revisit the style. This brew is very sweet and has a strong flavor. It would be perfect for making bread with. Wouldn’t mind having this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-27-2008 01:15:14 --

Big thanks to Probiere for getting me this brew I otherwise would never have tasted! Brown 12 oz bottle. Pour is nice and dark brown with a thin scummy top, no head. No gunk on the bottom of this bottle even tho it doew appear to be a little hazy, wait, maybe thats fog on my glass. Malty choco aroma. Medium strong yet choco malty on the first taste too. During the commencement, the alky content is not quite apparent as 6.7%. While into the session roasty flavors continue with an initial alky shock that hangs for just a moment or two after each slug. Some carbonation in there. Almost done and still don’t think this is above 6%. Not bad overall.

12 oz. bottle from Guerde- thank you! Served in an old mug- poured a transparent brown with amber hue, medium and lively carbonation, no head. Aroma of malt (partially wheat?), butter, and notes of toffee and caramel- highly interesting. Hits the mouth with a high- medium body, very wide, malt is there 100%, nuts with cream come in the middle, finish is hearty, lingers, and nothing but pure delight. It may be the lack of beer lately, but this one, the last one from Guerde, was nothing short of awesome!

A: Pours a nice dark nutty brown with amber tones showing through. Nice tall tan head that dies to a big bubbly ring. Nice chunks of spotty lace left behind as this one is consumed. S: Wonderful sweet malt aromas. Bold brown sugar and caramel. Nuts and toffee. Mild chocolate as well. T: Now this is not an extreme beer lovers dream, what it is though is a real nice brown ale. Wonderful brown sugar sweetness. Notes of chocolate malt with wonderful roast. Lots of almond and pecans. M: Medium in body, smooth, almost creamy. D: Wonderful, tasty and damn drinkable. Did not even know this brewer existed. It’s a win for me, and I am usually not a fan of malty brews.
