3fourths (9150) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 20, 2014
Draft at the brewery in Debring, unfiltered from keg. Lightly hazed amber with a fine white head. Aroma impression is clover honey, nut oils, seed bread, faint soapy esters and quiet German noble hops (the ubiquitous floral lemon and pepper). Full bodied and rich, sticky, peppery, nutty and seedy retronasal. Fine carbonation delivers nutty pastry maltiness, and the mouth feel is rich and full. Long noble hop peppery finish. Delicious, balanced and clean, this lip smacking heller bock may be one of the best in Oberfranken.

bottle, thank you MoritzF! Clear golden yellow, large head. Full-bodied, intensive flavours of malt, spicy hops and a touch of medicinal herbs. Bitter-sweet, lingering finish.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a massive blond foamy head. Sweet and bready cara-malty aroma. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Grainy, slightly bready taste; sweet and malty finish with a touch of hoppy bitterness, lasting malt-accented aftertaste with a tinge of caramel.

Ungstrup (34703) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2007
Draft. An orange beer - quite light in color even for a Heller Bock with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with quite strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol that hits early, but then comes notes of caramel, before the alcohol returns, and leads to a dry alcoholic finish.

(On tap) Beautiful, clear amber golden with a dense, off-white head with good retention. Sweetish, lightly caramelish aroma. Medium body with sweetish notes of caramel malt. Lightly hoppy finish. Yet another solid German Bock in style somewhere between A Dunkler and a Heller Bock. 091106
