Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldgelbes Bier mit ordentlichem Schaum. Geruch malzig, hopfig, grasig. Geschmack hopfig grasig, malzig, leicht würzig.

500 ml bottle. BB 18/6. From landbierparadies.com.
10 days past the BB date and the bier came gushing out of the bottle. Hazy yellow golden colour with an average sized white head. The aroma seems to be quite balanced with some sweetness, dry grainy maltiness and a touch of yeast. Rather nice actually. The flavour is pretty much the same. More grassy bitterness but otherwise nicely balanced. Tasty... even if 10 days past the BB date.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, but small head. Starts mild, malty-yeasty, not very dry. Finish more hoppy and a bit boring-malty. Nothing special.

Quack-Duck (7773) - Down South, GERMANY - JUN 9, 2013
bottle from Bierzwerg. Hazy golden yellow, white head. Grainy malty base with hints of yeast and some nice hops. Classic example of the style, well done.

Idiosynkrasie (3623) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2013
500ml bottle. Minimally filmy golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy aroma, some citrus, a touch of hay. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, a touch of caramel, biscuit, some citrus; slightly dry, grainy finish.

pivnizub (8745) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 16, 2013
Draught at the brewpub: Presumably golden, medium-sized fluffy to creamy white head, mild, but distinctive herbal-hoppy nose with a soft pale-malty background; nearly solid bittter-sweet flavour; lingering - some hops stick to the palate - bitter-hoppy finish with a well detectable sweetish malty counterpart. Great franconian stuff...

Dedollewaitor (13696) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2012
Bottle @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours cloudy golden with a creamy white head and lacings. Grassy and grainy nose and flavor. Medium bodied. Quite rough and unrefined. Bitter finish.

My Bottom Line :
This pillowy blond lager lets itself be drunk, sharing delicate spicy hops within deliciously well-rounded pils malts.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A healthy head of foam covers the misty pale gold.
-This tastes like a softer, unfiltered version of their Pils... which is not a bad thing at all, mind you.
-Hop bitterness is mild, as are the lasting malt flavors. This finish could use some more bite.
-These guys have really got the mouthfeels down; always soft effervescence, nicely subtle touches of residual sugars, all perfectly cohesive.
-The pils malt flavors could be a tad better expressed (see Held Bräu’s Helles for those, for example), but they provide plenty of enjoyment nonetheless.

On tap at the brewery gasthof.
