Ceramic mug. Frothy head. Big herbal hop aroma. Bitter, herbal and with a bit of a rustic taste. Full body, great balance. Immensely quaffable with a rich bitterness.

My Bottom Line :
This well-rounded German Pilsener promotes balanced honeyed malts and herbal hops for a very drinkable, polished pint.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A ring of foam surrounds the clear golden.
-Malts also offer hay-like flavors.
-Herbal hop bitterness follows through with the same moderate intensity as the hop flavor.
-This is not a thin example at all. Malt sugars are healthy and carbonation well calculated to produce a cushy mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery gasthof.

Maria (10136) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2010
It’s golden with a huge, white and creamy head. The aroma has notes of flower, malt, biscuits and light straw. The slightly sweet flavour has notes of malt, flower, biscuits and the finish is slightly bitter and nice and dry. It’s a truly nice pilsner.

Beershine (5218) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2009
Draft @ brewpub. In krug. Is golden with small lasting head and lacing. Aroma is earth, metals, and fresh grain. The palate is a little sticky, but quaffable. The flavors are sweet, grainy. More like a helles than a pils with a grassy finish and herbal nature throughout. It’s nothing special.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized blond foamy head. Moderately sweet, slightly bready, slightly biscuity malt aroma with just a shy whiff of hops. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Malt-accented, slightly bready and doughy taste; moderately dry, slightly sweet and moderately bitter finish with a light herbal hops character. Unexciting but pleasant to drink.

Quite clear, lovely gold, just a little tiny bit of unfiltered goodness. Nice head and retention. Aroma is a little indistinct grain, hay, rainwater, freshness, touch of caramel. Surprisingly sweet in the flavor (moderate to high), a little too honeyed for my preferred pils taste. Bitternessis mild-to-moderate. Nevertheless, quite drinkable and fresh, best before June 26, 2011, bottle from Edo - thanks!
