Bottle from TimE. Thanks! Smoky. Hint of diacetyl, which could just be some meloidins from the malt or a long boil. Some hop bitterness. Amber brown color.

Ceramic mug. Slight spicy hop and earthy malt on the nose. Earthy, lightly toffeeish character on the palate with a rustic yeast accent. Fairly full-bodied yet fairly refreshing.

Beershine (5201) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2009
Draft @ brewpub. In krug the head disappears rather fast. The aromas are liquid bread, minerals. Thick palate. Has a soy sauce character, nice dark malts, Vegemite, then a dry hoppy finish. Nice.

MiP (13478) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 13, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Seemingly hazy dark brown colour. Small tan head. The flavour is mostly soy. I do not mind soy, and not in beer either, but it is just not that interesting. Spicy aftertaste, which is quite good.

Draught at the brewpub. Probably brownish amber, minimal head. Lightly roasty and a bit nutty. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Rater slim and straightforward. Lightly salty finish with lingering bitterness.

Draft. A brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet nutty and malty combined with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with loads of caramel, leading to a dry nutty finish. Served too cold for my liking which is a shame for the nice flavor, but the choice of the brewpub.

(On tap) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Soft aroma of roasted malt and some burned caramel. Dry but not overly hoppy finish. A very decent Dunkel. 091106

MoritzF (8389) - Bochum, GERMANY - AUG 4, 2006
(bottle, from pivnizub - thanks !) Clear, brown colour with a small beige foamy head. Sweet aroma of dark and toasted malt with toffee and shy notes of herbal hops. Initially sweet and aromatic toasted malty tasty with bread crusts and toffee; medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation; sweetbitter malty finish. Rather one-dimensional but quaffable and well-crafted Dunkel.

pivnizub (8729) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2006
On tap (from a very fresh barrel) at the Brauereigaststätte: Chestnut coloured, firm mid-sized off-white head; slightly toasted, malty nose; mainly sweet flavour; light bodied, soft MF; delicate sweet-malty finish with a light, late coming bitterness. First impression: a bit too sweet, second impression: quite decent, well drinkable.......

rauchbier (3592) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2005
Tap, at the Brewpub. Jan 2005. Chestnut brown, moderate off white head and gentle condition. Low fruity malt with a hint of chocolate in the nose, soft and fruitily malty in the mouth with a slight roasted bitterness developing. Lingering toasted bread in the aftertaste.
