Clear amber (without yeast) - with yeast it gets slightly hazy. Small, staying, off-white frothy head. Aroma has banana, red apples, light herbal, some slight milky chocolate and caramel. Low to medium carbonation, very nice creamy and light palate. Flavour is mild, some slight caramel, light banana. Soft grainy wheat sweetness and mild earthy bitterness. Fine.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kapusil (244) - HUNGARY - MAY 13, 2013
0.5l bottle. Orange body, off-white head. Aroma of banana with a noticeable spicyness. Pretty weak taste. Mostly banana and pepper. Watery mouthfeel. Nothing bad about it, but a bit too weak for me.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ernest (5627) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Bottle.
Head is initially large, frothy, white, fully lasting.
Body is hazy/cloudy medium amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, cookie), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, orange marmalade, clove, pepper.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
A fantastic Ur-Weisse (which I’m sad that RateBeer still doesn’t recognize as a distinct style separate from Helles and Dunkles Weissbier...FWIW, this is the orangey-cookie-ish amber colored "Ur" variety, and my personal favorite of the three). Heck, I don’t even like Weissbier that much, and never have...but good grief, this is about as exceptional an example as you could ask for. Beautiful glowing amber appearance, fully lasting head, beautiful balanced aroma (not just banana, not just clove, etc.), excellent flavor balance (not too sweet or tart), very clean...what more could you ask for out of this style? I can honestly say I drank the entire bottle by myself, with great delight. This has Jeffy’s name all over it.

Bottle shared with McTapps. After two days of pissy Russian lagers this one hits me. Sweetish with aromas of ripe fruits, yeast and banana. Medium carbo lets the beer go down fast. Not a surprise or rocket science but an above the average piwo.
