Maria (3963), Thisted, Denmark Aug 2, 2008 The color is nice, copper-red and the head is nice, huge and creamy. The aroma is alluring with notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, chocolate, a light citrussy bitterness and it ends on notes of chocolate and citrus. Of course it’s not like a stout, but the chocolate is an unexpected treat. oh6gdx (5739), Vaasa, Finland May 21, 2007 Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is malts and some alchohol. Also a bit grassy and spicy. Flavour is malts, somealcohol and a bit spices. A very wellbalanced bock. Tranquillity (1029), Espoo, Finland May 1, 2007 Helsinki Beer Festival 2007. Miles better than it’s hell-brother (pun intended). Nice bun aroma, cinnamon. Very light colour, small white head. Taste some alcohol, not much else except maybe some bitterness. TBone (4924), Pori, Finland Apr 18, 2007 Bottled My 3300th rating.
Copper brown color, small but steady white head. Grassy and malty aroma. Grassy, alcoholic, a bit sweetish flavor. Grassy aftertaste, a bit sticky. jbrus (4095), Delft, Netherlands Apr 13, 2007 Bottled. Fruity aroma (orange, apple) and light herbal as well. Orange/copper color, small beige head, good lace. Sweet, fruity, light bitter, hint of sourness (probably from the malts), apple, orange and almonds. Sticky mouthfeel. Although called Dunkel the color and flavors go in the Heller Bock direction. But still very good. Reminds me more of a Belgian Ale than a Bock.
