Bottle. Clear golden colour, average white head. No real aroma. Notes of alcohol and of hops, which, combined with the sharp bitterness, make it taste a bit like pepper. Interesting but not easily drinkable Bock.

Fairly pale colour, medium head, clear. Mainly a phenol aroma. Fairly sweet malty taste, notes of grass and phenol. Sharp peppery finish. Overall a decent heller bock, quite a bit like a Maibock.

Test vom 25.2.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Blond color. Anonymous aroma. The flavor is a bit malty, and the body strength is correct; as well, correct bitterness, with a bit of alcohol in the end. Nevertheless, one more Heller Bock that is not winning my interest in the style.

Koelschtrinker (7038) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2011
Test vom 13.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,9,9,9,9 - 9,30

hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 30, 2011
Bottle… February in Franconia (2011)… Clear golden lager with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. The bouquet is of pale malts, Tupelo honey and a hint of white pepper. Medium to full-bodied and fatty with zippy carbonation. The flavor is bittersweet with nice pale malts and spicy hops. Short, crisp, mildly bitter finish. Thanks go out to erlangernick and Koelschtrinker for making this month of Franconian lagers possible!

Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 31, 2010
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 29 Jan 2010) Pale yellow colour with a firm, rocky, white head. Malty nose with notes of grass, grain, toffee and a generous malt sweetness. Malty, full flavoured taste with grain, bread, toffee and a spicy, grassy bitterness in the finish. More than full body, balanced malt sweetness. The impressive malt presence and a generous grassy bitterness make this a solid, well balanced and tasty bock. Very nice.

omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 15, 2010
Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear golden, small but rocky head. Distinct grainy nose with some bubblegum and raisin. Sweet malt condensed to raisin and grain. Chewy potent, near full bodied. Rock solid with some grassy hops. Salty with bitterish finish and some warming alcohol. A superbly competent genuine bock, a work of art!

Ungstrup (23922) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 3, 2009
Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and eggs, and so is the flavor, though added notes of citrus, cardboard, and bread. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Quack-Duck (5921) - Down South, GERMANY - APR 25, 2009
bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear golden yellow, small white head, grassy-hoppy aroma with a touch of vegetables. Full-bodied, bitter-sweet with an intensive maltyness and grassy-herbal hops.
