Ah but Joris, it is a very nice Marzen :-) It starts with the looks: Hazy amber with moderate carbonation, big foamy tanned lacing head. Bready, some dried tropical fruit aroma, herbal and aromatic hops. Fruity and honeyish malts, some perfumed notes and a elegant dry herbal finish. Solid chewy mouthfeel, bready and herbal aftertaste.

Test vom 26.1.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,13,12,9,12 - 11,85

Bottled: Aroma with grainy malt and herbal hop notes. Light honey notes. Golden color with foamy head. Flavor is light sweet and intensive malty. Notes of grain, toast and some roasted malt. Pithy and intensive. Some fruitiness and aroma hop. Herbal hoppy, moderate bitter end. Intensive, very nice märzen.

Golden - orange colour, off-white head. Taste malty, slightly bready and little hoppy. Great, pleasant drink.

Bottle 0.5l. Delirium cafe, Brussel. Lovely hoppy nose: pineapple, peaches, a bit flowery, herbal and some underlying malt. Tastes more malty and the hop comes back in the finish with a good bitterness. Nice silky mouthfeel, but maybe a bit overcarbonated. Overall a very nice marzen!

Bottle at Zapfhahn Bamberg. Clear amber colour lasting white head. Decent malts. Good noble hop finish. Clean. Forgotten how good Franconia beers are. So consistent so good. Some toffee.

Tap from cask at Dno pytle. Absolutely classic german style lager, grassy hoppy flavour and moderate bitterness. Good one.

Draught Orange, pale-amber beer, good white head, not stable. Fresh, flowery nose, touch of apricot-like fruitiness, sweet but not offputting. Quite sweet, bready, sweetbread, nearly honey-ish, and a touch of hops in the finish. Medium body, velvety MF. Nice, sweet, but lovely. Probably very nourishing too. Joss got lyric over this, had to drag him out of the pub.

Svesse (7765) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 5, 2006
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 4 Oct) Pale amber colour, remarkably clear, with white frothy head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, toast and apricots. Full, malty taste with caramel, dark fruit and dark rye bread. Slightly sweet. Metallic, bitter finish. Medium to full body. Lots of character without straying too far from the middle of the road.
